No Don't Stop's debut album is a stylish example of a do-it-yourself project gone right. Self produced, recorded, mixed, hand-stamped, and hand packaged; Lipsync Karaoke reveals a creative band that is hard working and determined to succeed. This group will stop at nothing to get where theyโre going.
Lipsync Karaoke plays through like a classic mix tape as you drive down the winding roads of Vancouver Island. To set the scene and to kick off the album is "Smooth Ride to D-Townโ with its beatnik road trip swagger. Other tracks in the mix include a Pixies-esque "I Don't Mind", the gospel tinged "Ballad of the Black Keys", a Neil Young-ian "Grizzly Coast", the junk percussion anthem of "Buzzard Banjo", and the tail feather shaking "Deader Than Heaven".
Since forming in 2009, No Donโt Stop have organized several unique live performances in their home town of Duncan, BC, including the first ever Rock โnโ Bowl at the local lanes, and sold-out Hallowโs Eve and circus themed Cabarets. In addition theyโve played a multimedia art and music exhibit, a showcase theatre, backyard bbqs, coffee houses, pubs, toured Western Canada and rocked the stage at the Cowichan Summer Festival, the Spot Prawn Festival, GongFest and Rifflandia.
Everywhere they go No Donโt Stopโs stage performances are turning heads and captivating audiences. Singer Reid Williams shoots off lyrics like Beck or a young Bob Dylan as he plays electric guitar, acoustic guitar, or banjo; Levi Wertz keeps the rhythm moving with driving bass lines; and keyboardist Andrew Wilson has spent all of 2011 hitting mallets on a stand up drum set: pounding the group forward as an unstoppable trio.
The percussion department is always revolving and you might be lucky enough to see Kailo Mills or Jacob Hokanson banging on anything from full drum kits to only a suitcase and snare. Their exceptional use of use of old milk cans, chains, animal bones, and other random junk as percussion instruments has really raised some eyebrows and added to their appeal.
In January 2011, No Don't Stop produced and recorded a second album that they hope to release in early 2012. It will showcase a more rustic and rural acoustic sound written from backyards, country verandas, living room pianos and campfires. โMudflat Ramblersโ contains 12 tracks recorded live off the floor in a small cabin near the Sasquatch hot spot of Mt Sicker. These boys have stories to tell and canโt wait to share their latest work with everyone. Stay tuned.

Don't you take my soul, if you've got nothing to say
Well every man just wanna be someone
and I've been no exception
You better listen hard, cause I've got something to say
Know yourself and get to know where you're going
And I've been to hell, it felt like paradise
And I walked through your heart, just to see what I can find
keep it back now never runaway
keep it back now last ill wish gone away
keep it back now can you believe it all
Don't take my heart, if you've got nothing to give me
Don't you take my soul, if you've got nothing to say
Well every man just wanna be someone
and I've been no exception
You better listen hard, cause I've got something to say
keep it back now never runaway

The lyrics to No Don't Stop's song "Bake You a Cake" are a warning to a potential lover not to take the singer's heart and soul if they have nothing to offer in return. The lines "Don't take my heart, if you've got nothing to give me/Don't you take my soul, if you've got nothing to say" repeat throughout the chorus, emphasizing the importance of genuine connection and communication in a relationship.
The verses illustrate the singer's search for meaning and understanding in life, as well as their awareness of their own flaws and weaknesses. The line "every man just wanna be someone/and I've been no exception" speaks to the universal desire for identity and purpose, while also acknowledging the singer's own insecurity.
The bridge, which repeats the lines "keep it back now never runaway/keep it back now last ill wish gone away/keep it back now can you believe it all," adds a sense of urgency to the song, as if the singer is urging their lover to make a decision before it's too late.
Overall, "Bake You a Cake" is a passionate plea for authenticity and vulnerability in relationships, with a driving beat and powerful vocals that make it a standout track.

I love how Cecily wasn't sure which English accent to use, so she just went with all of them.

I agree that Cecily killed it but I can't help but laugh at Emily Blunt! I'm from the north of England and some of her lines remind me a little of the way I speak with my accent being what I can only describe as flat and monotone (the Yorkshire accent basically) ๐

Lol agreed, I forgot she was British for a second I was like "damn that's a good northern accent"

Where is that accent Cicely is doing sourced from?
I'd guess somewhere a bit north of Yorkshire.
And what's it called?
