Nomadi Lyrics

Avvinte sempre quel aquilone
Senza sapere, sapere ragione.
Ma troppo deboli le braccia delle fate
E troppo fini quelle dita delicate
Anche Utopia fu invitata all'evento,
Mentre Utopia andava via allegramente
Perché vedeva il futuro presente
Verità a capo chino sussurrava
"Stai confondendo il desiderio e il destino".
E l'animo corse come fa un torrente
Cambiando segno tra passato e presente,
Utopia ogni notte un uomo amava
Ed all'alba lo abbandonava.
The song Utopia by Nomadi tells the story of two sisters, Utopia and Verità (Truth), and their relationship with each other and the world around them. Utopia had an older sister named Verità who was known for launching a kite into the wind that read "freedom" on it. The sisters spent all their time together, holding onto this kite without ever questioning why they were doing it. However, one day, the wind was too strong, and the kite broke away, separating the sisters.
Verità went on to marry Time, an old and cruel man who was not an ideal husband for her. Meanwhile, Utopia remained free and explored the world without any constraints. She loved and left a man every night, never fearing commitment or consequences. Verità, on the other hand, felt trapped and unhappy in her marriage but eventually inherited everything from her infidel husband.
The song is a reflection on the concepts of freedom and truth and how they are related to each other. Utopia represents the ideal world that we all wish to live in, while Verità represents the harsh reality that we must face. The kite of freedom is a metaphor for the pursuit of our dreams and aspirations. The lyrics also seem to suggest that freedom and truth are not necessarily compatible with each other and that one may have to sacrifice one of these ideals to achieve the other.
