The band has already taken on every aspect of their career all on their own. Including:
1. Designing their own website
2. Purchasing and securing numic.com /.org / and .net
3. All artwork for flyers and promotional supplies
4. Booking shows
5. Making videos
6. Managing stage shows
7. Creating hot selling merchandise i.e. hats, shirts, etc
8. Web based promotions
9. The members of Numic even built their own pro-grade recording studio in the heart of the Napa Valley to record their own albums. It was there in early 2005 they recorded Recrudescent Feed. The album was produced, mixed, engineered and paid for duplication by band members. It went on to become a critically acclaimed success. With a dew outstanding press reviews and tons of great buyer / listener reviews, the record continues to sell like hotcakes. Even with almost no radio play other than a few late Sunday nights on KSJO (before the stations demise in late 2004) and on KRXQ 98.5 Local Licks in Sacramento, the album seems to have taken on a life of its own with word of mouth. Purchased by way of Myspace and CDBaby or out of the back seats of cars.
The sound of Numic has been heard / seen / felt mostly in Northern California in places such as Slims-SF, The Boardwalk-Sac, California State Fair, Phoenix Theater-Petaluma and The Whiskey A go go- Hollywood. With every show their audience is growing larger and more inspired. But in the beginning to give a sort of kick start, Numic purchased and restored a 1965 GM Greyhound bus. Converted into a tour bus, the vehicle was used to shuttle an average of 20-30 fans to out of town shows.
In August of 2005, Numic's song Thrown Away was featured on Sacramento Rocks vol. 12 A compilation CD featuring the best bands of Sacramento and benefiting the Mustard Seed School for homeless children.

Like a Devil

that would lead me here to fall
Why is the dirt always something that I want
Look over my shoulder
like a devil speaking for me
Why is good always so boring
there's no moral in our story
We must be out of our minds
Don't you see the cold hand
reaching in to grab
but the felling is warm
stare, you're seeing me
Can't you see me
turning on.
(coming in, coming in)
All I need's a thought
and I'm there
stealing in to guide
while you're taking the fall
then, I'll leave you there
Can't you see me
guiding on.
Where is the voice
that would lead me here to fall
Why is the dirt always something that I want
Look over my shoulder
like a devil speaking for me
Why is good always so boring
there's no moral in our story
We must be out of our minds
We must be out of our minds
Hey man, I just don't understand
We'll medicate our lives with something true
Hey man, I just don't understand
We'll medicate our lives with something true
All I need's a thought
and I'm there
stealing in to guide
while you're taking the fall
then, I'll leave you there
Can't you see me
guiding on, guiding on.
Where is the voice
that would lead me here to fall
Why is the dirt always something that I want
Look over my shoulder
like a devil speaking for me
Why is good always so boring
there's no moral in our story
We must be out of our minds
We must be out of our minds
In Numic's song "Like A Devil", the lyrics evoke a sense of confusion and temptation as the singer searches for guidance but is instead influenced by darker forces. The opening lines question the absence of a guiding voice, and the repeated motif of "why is the dirt always something that I want" implies a desire for something that may not be in the singer's best interest. The metaphor of the devil speaking for the singer highlights the idea that the singer is being misled and swayed towards temptation.
The chorus, "we must be out of our minds", suggests a lack of control and rational thinking. The second verse continues with the image of a "cold hand reaching in to grab" and the feeling being warm, further emphasizing the allure of temptation. The repetition of "can't you see me guiding on" portrays the singer as both the tempted and the tempter, leading someone else into their own downfall.
The bridge presents a sense of desperation, as the singer admits to not understanding their situation and seeks to "medicate our lives with something true". The final chorus brings back the questioning tone of the first verse, emphasizing that there is no clear moral in the confusing and tempting situation presented in the lyrics.
Overall, "Like A Devil" is a complex exploration of temptation, control, and personal agency. The lyrics resonate with anyone who has struggled with temptation or the desire for guidance in confusing situations.
