With their unique style of psychedelic garage and a mix of R&B, Okamoto's have been likened to The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Stooges.
Okamoto's come with a message, barely 19 and they already have the fire and passion to take over the world questioning the forefathers of Rock itself. They do not simply know, but have the courage to ask Bob Dylan if in fact " The times have actually changed" and of course still maintain the punk rock mentality in asking why are they not learning about rock in school. They have the guts of fearless teenagers, scaring us one adult at a time. Live shows that make the blood curdle at the fact that they have only just graduated from high school, the old are afraid, the young are eating it up. They really are a horrifying band!
June of 2009 saw them release their debut album "Here are Okamoto's" and with over 100 live shows under their belt, Okamoto's are going to just get better and scarier with every step they take. So get on that "Rocket to Japan" because everyone is going to wanna dance with these guys

Looking to the full moon
Watch out
To the shiny spider web
And walk down the river
How long could we go far away?
And walk down the river
(Hey! Hey!) When the time has come
(Hey! Hey!) When the time has come
(Hey! Hey!)
Now's the time.
Who's gonna burn me?
Looking to the full moon
Darlin' I am a run away boy
But I'll find you out
Why don't you tell me
Your charming point
So I could find you out
(Hey! Hey!) When the time has come
(Hey! Hey!) When the time has come
(Hey! Hey!) When the time has come
(Hey! Hey!)
Where are you
My special midnight?
Neighbors not my finally one
I know I'm insane tonight
If they are normal
Old man with a confused dog
Sailor says the ship leaves now
(Hey! Hey!) When the time has come
(Hey! Hey!) When the time has come
(Hey! Hey!) When the time has come
(Hey! Hey!) If my lover's not here
(Hey! Hey!) And I'm all alone
(Hey! Hey!) But I'll find you out
(Hey! Hey!) But I'll find you out
(Hey! Hey!)
The lyrics to OKAMOTO'S song "Insane Man" depict a sense of restlessness and longing. The singer is wandering in the night, under the full moon, feeling a deep desire to escape their current circumstances. They question how far they can go and contemplate the notion of time and its impact on their search for something more.
The song suggests that the singer is a runaway, someone who feels out of place or trapped in their current situation. They express a yearning to find someone, to connect with someone who understands them. There is a plea for their special "midnight" to reveal themselves, perhaps indicating a desire for an unconventional connection, someone who is like-minded and unafraid to embrace their own madness.
The lyrics also touch upon the concept of normalcy and how the singer feels detached from it. They view themselves as different from their neighbors, referring to them as "not my finally one," suggesting a lack of true connection or understanding. The mention of the old man with a confused dog and the sailor leaving on a ship adds to the overall feeling of displacement and a longing for something beyond the ordinary.
