PICASSO
OKAMOTO'S Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Picasso
Boarding boarding
Boarding boarding
Come and dance, come and dance, 'till the day we're gonna die
C'mon dance, c'mon dance, 'till the day we're gonna die

Picasso
Picasso
Picasso Picasso
Picasso

'Till that day
'Till that day
'Till that

Boarding boarding
Boarding boarding

Woah! 'Till the day I die
Woah!

Overall Meaning

In "Picasso," OKAMOTO'S sings about the pursuit of happiness and the need to stand out and create something unique. The first verse describes the singer's journey in search of happiness, running after it but failing to catch it, and how the world only offers things that can only happen once. Despite this, the singer is always bored. They then suggest that the answer to their problems may lie in becoming a 'Picasso,' someone who creates art that is different from anyone else's, and that's something that is desirable. The chorus repeats this sentiment, saying that they want to create a painting that no one else can, and they sing "C'mon dance, c'mon dance, 'till the day we're gonna die" as a call to action to live life fully by expressing themselves creatively.

In the second verse, the singer wants to improve and make changes to their life, and then things will become more comprehensible and relatable. Furthermore, they feel that they have neglected life and people because they have been preoccupied writing songs. Then the chorus is repeated again, with the lines "Picasso, like multiple sketches, Picasso, who cannot be satisfied." They want to feel needed and help to bring change to the world. The bridge, in this case, sounds like a plea to reach a certain destination, despite not knowing where it is or how to reach it, they still actively persist, hoping to make it someday. The song ends with a chant of "Woah!'Till the day I die."
