With their unique style of psychedelic garage and a mix of R&B, Okamoto's have been likened to The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Stooges.
Okamoto's come with a message, barely 19 and they already have the fire and passion to take over the world questioning the forefathers of Rock itself. They do not simply know, but have the courage to ask Bob Dylan if in fact " The times have actually changed" and of course still maintain the punk rock mentality in asking why are they not learning about rock in school. They have the guts of fearless teenagers, scaring us one adult at a time. Live shows that make the blood curdle at the fact that they have only just graduated from high school, the old are afraid, the young are eating it up. They really are a horrifying band!
June of 2009 saw them release their debut album "Here are Okamoto's" and with over 100 live shows under their belt, Okamoto's are going to just get better and scarier with every step they take. So get on that "Rocket to Japan" because everyone is going to wanna dance with these guys

Shows me some strangers falling in love
My cup of coffee doesn't work at all
I'm so alone, wanna sleep
You used to always wear a red lipstick said
Then I can leave a proof that I was here
Don't worry I'm so good at forgetting things
So go away before I recall
I painted my mask to a different color
Poisoned my past with memories
Still when I find a lipstick
Smudge on the cup
I look for your shadow
I know that there's no girl like you, but what can I do?
I've got no choice, I'm in this hole alone
I need some more
My heart's so empty
Aren't there any phantoms that you left for me?
Are you gonna laugh if you see me trying to find a lipstick
Smudge that you left
I need some more
My heart's so empty
Aren't there any phantoms that you left for me?
Are you gonna cry if you find out
I'm not good at forgetting things?
I know there're a lot of guys better than me out there
I've got no choice, I'm in this hole alone
Dulu dulu dulu dulu, dulu dulu du dulu lu lu
Dulu dulu dulu dululululu, dululu
Dulu dulu dulu dulu, dulu dulu du dulu lu lu
Dulu dulu dulu dululululu, dululu
I need some more
My heart's so empty
Aren't there any phantoms that you left for me?
Are you gonna laugh if you see me trying to find a lipstick
Smudge that you left
I need some more
My heart's so empty
Aren't there any phantoms that you left for me?
Are you gonna cry if you find out
I'm not good at forgetting things?
I need some more
I need some more

The lyrics of OKAMOTO'S's song Phantom deal with feelings of loneliness and longing for someone who is no longer present. The singer is sitting in a cafe, observing strangers falling in love through the window, but feeling empty and detached from the world around him. He remembers a past love who used to wear red lipstick and left a mark of her presence. However, he tries to forget her and even changes his facade, painting his mask to a different color and poisoning his past with memories.
Despite his efforts, the singer still feels the presence of his former lover whenever he finds a lipstick smudge on the cup. He longs for some kind of phantom of her that could fill the void in his heart. The song oscillates between a sense of helplessness and a desperate need for connection, as the singer asks if there are any phantoms left for him and wonders if his former love would laugh or cry at his attempts to find her traces.
Overall, the lyrics of Phantom are a poignant representation of the human condition, depicting the struggle between the desire for belonging and the inevitability of loss and transience.
