With their unique style of psychedelic garage and a mix of R&B, Okamoto's have been likened to The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Stooges.
Okamoto's come with a message, barely 19 and they already have the fire and passion to take over the world questioning the forefathers of Rock itself. They do not simply know, but have the courage to ask Bob Dylan if in fact " The times have actually changed" and of course still maintain the punk rock mentality in asking why are they not learning about rock in school. They have the guts of fearless teenagers, scaring us one adult at a time. Live shows that make the blood curdle at the fact that they have only just graduated from high school, the old are afraid, the young are eating it up. They really are a horrifying band!
June of 2009 saw them release their debut album "Here are Okamoto's" and with over 100 live shows under their belt, Okamoto's are going to just get better and scarier with every step they take. So get on that "Rocket to Japan" because everyone is going to wanna dance with these guys
When the Music's Over
OKAMOTO'S Lyrics

When the music's over
終わりがいつかわからないけど (when the music's over)
When the music's over
いつかキスも数えられないくらい (when the music's over)
When the music's over
静寂ははまるで映画のフィナーレ (when the music's over)
When the music's over
いつかキスが何かの合図みたいに (when the music's over)
In these lyrics, the singer reflects on the state of the world and the longing they feel for someone they miss. The first verse begins with the observation that someone has left again, and that the world is deteriorating. They mention how commentators on TV are shouting about these problems, but they would rather see the person they miss. The repetition of the phrase "君に会いたいな" emphasizes their desire to meet this person.
The second verse talks about how just breathing costs money, highlighting the struggles and expenses of daily life. They question when was the last time they heard any good news, and how the music on TV is more captivating than these problems. They express their intention to go and meet the person they miss, emphasizing their desire to do so.
The chorus "When the music's over" suggests uncertainty about when things will end but focuses on the shared moments and emotions experienced while listening to music together. The singer mentions the allure of their loved one's shadow, expressing their affection for them. They mention that someday, they won't be able to count the number of kisses they've shared, and that only they understand the things they share at the end of the night, amidst a romantic dream-like atmosphere.
The third verse returns to the observation that someone else has left, despite the music still playing. The singer wonders if they are the only one who can hear it, implying a feeling of isolation. They note that there are many people who feel anxious about the future, further emphasizing the troubled times they are living in.
The bridge suggests that the singer navigates through their sadness and enters it gently, like slipping through a gap in a door. They whisper to each other, symbolizing an intimate connection.
The final chorus again emphasizes the uncertainty of when the music will end, drawing a parallel with the silence after a movie ends. The singer describes the silence as a dream-like continuation, awaiting the moment when the lights come back on. They express their desire to immerse themselves even further in the mellow feedback of this romantic music. The lyrics end with the wish of being separated from this world through a kiss, with the hope that this music will never fade away.
