With their unique style of psychedelic garage and a mix of R&B, Okamoto's have been likened to The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Stooges.
Okamoto's come with a message, barely 19 and they already have the fire and passion to take over the world questioning the forefathers of Rock itself. They do not simply know, but have the courage to ask Bob Dylan if in fact " The times have actually changed" and of course still maintain the punk rock mentality in asking why are they not learning about rock in school. They have the guts of fearless teenagers, scaring us one adult at a time. Live shows that make the blood curdle at the fact that they have only just graduated from high school, the old are afraid, the young are eating it up. They really are a horrifying band!
June of 2009 saw them release their debut album "Here are Okamoto's" and with over 100 live shows under their belt, Okamoto's are going to just get better and scarier with every step they take. So get on that "Rocket to Japan" because everyone is going to wanna dance with these guys

The lyrics to OKAMOTO'S's "Yume Dub" are about the struggles and disappointments of chasing one's dreams. The song opens with the singer confessing that even in their dreams, they face nothing but failures. The use of the present tense implies that the singer is currently struggling and that their dreams offer little relief. This is further emphasized when they describe being caught in a downpour without an umbrella, indicating that they are ill-equipped to face the challenges of their life.
The singer admits that they find it hard to wake up from their dreams, as reality is full of lies and betrayals. The song's chorus, which repeats that dreams and reality are both lonely, suggests that the singer also feels isolated and misunderstood. Despite knowing that they cannot escape from reality, the singer still wishes they had a reset button to try again. The second verse of the song furthers this idea of wanting to start over, as the singer describes a missed opportunity for a kiss that vanished like a mirage.
Overall, "Yume Dub" is a melancholic reflection on the difficulty of chasing one's dreams and the struggles of living in a challenging reality.
