The River
Of The Saints Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Just leave the lights off
When you decide to leave
Cause I don't want to feel
Anything at all in the bedroom
I used to share with my best friend
It's all gone
It's all gone
It's all gone
It's all gone
It's all gone

Well f you're watching this, I'm glad
Because it means you're safe
And that's all I've ever wanted

You know, we spend so much of our life's
Not saying the things we want to say
The things we should say

We speak in code, send little messages, origami

So now, plainly, simply
I wanna say that I love you

BABY, BABY, BABY, MY LITTLE BABY!!!

Love pretty much every version of this tune, but the saints really rocked it!!!

@mauharley

Ed Kuepper and The Aints played this as their encore at The Corner Hotel last Saturday night, and the place went nuts. With Peter Oxley from The Sunnyboys on bass, and a 3 piece brass section, it was one of the best pub gigs I've seen.

@deeder2000

I heard this as a teen, and 'Lipstick on Your Collar' on a compilation with lots of bands on and remember their two songs and none of the other 'compilators' because the Saints just blew the rest away with their sound!
