@@TytusJones you have a interesting perspective, it's wrong in my opinion but interesting to say the least. Your premise is based on a document found on some random internet website not on any website owned and operated by the organizations you're referring to. They're provided to you by people random people who claim to be a current or former member of those organizations but neither of them are an actual representative of those organizations.

Seriously, you should think about the risk of receiving a defamation lawsuit(s) because your statements are not substantiated by any actual facts. You are making outlandish statements that damage the reputation, character or integrity of those organizations.

@therrendunham5594

Let me preface this by making it very clear that I don’t judge any man’s walk with God; however He chooses to move others is His business, not mine. We have all been given free will by the Creator, and thus we have an obligation to do that which makes sense for ourselves, and ourselves alone.

That said, I am a Mason, a Shriner, a Sigma, a Lambda (Kappa Lambda Chi, a military Greek-Lettered organization or MGLO), and a Turtle. I come from a long line of Black men who are/were Traveling Men in the Prince Hall tradition.

At no point did any man (or spirit, for that matter) so much as tempt me to turn my back on the Lord. If anything, my participation in these organizations have only made me closer to the teachings of God.

That’s not to say that this young man is wrong or misguided; we took different paths, and thus have different experiences.

But what I am saying is that too often, I see people like him speak of his experiences so negatively, and it makes me feel that you have these individuals who join D9 and similar organizations for the wrong reasons, and making their change of heart about God’s will comes off as a cop out. It’s like they’re still running around from group to group until someone appears to accept them.

If this was a personal decision, I respect that. But don’t go on social media pontificating about how you dropped thousands of dollars for an organization that didn’t suit you, as if God had something to do with it—the rest of us are doing just fine.

I think it’s simple to say that BGLOs are appropriating Christianity.
We are not trying to do that or in anyway replace or replicate the faith.
We are social organizations that also strive to uplift the Black community and we offer our members the opportunity for lifetime membership.
People who are Christians also belong to other non-religious organizations that facilitate bonding with people who they have things in common with, fit their goals, interests and hobbies that in no way threaten or compromise their faith.
We don’t threaten or compromise anyone’s faith either.
It’s silly to assume that if a person is a committed Christian their faith is compromised if they associate with people or have a life outside of the church or belong to any other group.
That is what I am calling “simple.”
If a Christian person takes an oath for any of the other reasons in my original comment that does not weaken their faith.
I’m also skeptical of these people who pledge BGLOs and take an oath, then years later they decide it’s against their faith.
Their “faith” didn’t make them aware of that sooner? 😂😂
I think these people are largely attention-seekers.
In addition there is at least one man in the comments section who said he is an Omega and said your guest got some details about the fraternity wrong.
I’m not trying to change your mind or engage in a prolonged argument with you.
That would be pointless as you demonstrate what I consider a rigid, narrow-minded view of the way Christians should engage in the world and interact with other humans.
I’m just saying it’s simple, silly to say that BGLOs are trying to appropriate Christianity.
You as a non-member are entitled to your opinion.
I as a member of a Black sorority know that assertion is absolutely FALSE.

@AleciaRenece

Why would he be ashamed of following what Yahweh told him to do? 😐

Surely you read the scripture and can see that people thought folks of the Bible were crazy, too... Even other Believers.

Was this comment spirit led, or flesh led? Cuz it sounds pretty prideful to me.

You could have just prayed for him privately, reached out to him privately, or sought God about it... but no.

You had to insult him. Does that look like the God you serve?

Your organization was founded in 1911, God is eternal. Your reasoning cannot hold a candle to that...

You're spending more energy defending an organization than your fellow brother in Christ. That's sad.

@@ejointer Terrible proof text.

1. This video wasn’t done in a church or church service.

2. I did not teach or usurp authority over a man. This was an interview.

3. The church is called to minister the gospel to the world. Women are apart of the church.

4. Several female prophetesses are mentioned in the New Testament. Not to mention Junia who may have been an apostle.

5. The NT speaks of deaconesses. Therefore women can’t remain completely silent in the church, not even back then.

6. Joel prophesied that sons AND DAUGHTERS would prophesy.

7. Priscilla and Aquila (husband and WIFE) corrected Apollos.

Nice try though. 🙃🥴🥴🥴

@joshuaramseur

This video is disappointing. What is wrong with using "Shekinah" to describe being in the light of anything regardless if it Omega or the light in your kitchen? Seriously, there are dozens of colleges and universities that are HBCU and PWI with Latin mottos that state similar phrases. Morehouse College's mottos is "Et Facta Est Lux," which is let there be light. Yale's motto is “Urim and Thummim,” which is Hebrew for “Lux et Veritas,” which in turn is just Latin for “Light and Truth.”

What's more disappointing about both your perspectives is your inability or lack thereof to accurately state it as it is printed. Seriously play back the video to the part where you're discussing the test and you will see the printed text actually say, "Do they accept the Fatherhood of God, the universal brotherhood of man, and the sole aristocracy of the intellect?" Which Is very different from the universal fatherhood of Gods. Don't critique anything you don't understand.

And Omega Psi Phi, incorporated is a religious organization. The God referenced is the one true God that all Christians believers. Don't listen to this dude about Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated. His experience is exactly that just his. His lack of courage to say no to hazing and report any act or attempt of hazing is in alignment of his will to persevere and become a better man for the fraternity. He's really the problem because he admitted to hazing which a criminal act. 🤔

@TytusJones

@Joshua there seems to be much inconsistency between yourself and other members of Omega Psi Phi regarding hazing. Many have blatantly admitted to it and approved of the practice IN WRITING on social media. I would be happy to direct you to those comments so that you can report these individuals to nationals if you so please. Maybe your critique should start with those within your organization instead of those on the outside.

There has also been inconsistency on the religion status of this org and other D9 orgs. Some say they are religious and others say they are not. Which of you is wrong? Either way, I totally disagree that Omega as an organization follows Yahweh or the Biblical Jesus. You would be hard pressed to find anything in the New Testament/Covenant that promotes or justifies threatening to decapitate someone if they refuse to swallow a pill. This ritual in itself is proof that hazing is integrated into fraternity practices.

Lastly, this video is for individuals who are “doing their research” prior to joining. As a Christian, I believe these are valid talking points that anyone should seek clarification on BEFORE pledging. Shekinah in itself has religious connotations, and this is probably because Omega is a religious organization as you admitted. However, “religious” doesn’t mean Christian. Comparing Omega Psi Phi to being in the “Shekinah” or the presence of God is BLASPHEMY. If people don’t run and hide into rocks when Ques are around then your “Shekinah” is a knock off. Yale was an institution founded by CHRISTIANS so it would make sense for them to promote truth and light, specifically the light of JESUS CHRIST. If I misrepresented the ritual, then how about you do a video to explain what I got wrong?!? I won’t hold my breath, but if you decide to “shed some light” on this particular issue then I would gladly watch. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

@TytusJones

@@joshuaramseur you seem to be back tracking on your original comment. “What is wrong with using Shekinah to describe…” insinuated ownership that the ritual discussed was in fact an Omega ritual, therefore it’s not defamation because you and others in the org have confirmed it as true. Either way, I never claimed that these online rituals are 100% for certain org rituals. But I have the right to ask someone who was at one point in the org if that ritual is legit. From his experience and testimony, it belongs to Omegas. For an Omega to dispute that, they would have to prove that it’s not their ritual which would put the org at risk of exposing the actual ritual! The audience will decide for themselves based on this interview how to conduct their own research.

Wikipedia wasn’t used in any of this video but nice try. If you look at the other videos I’ve done on D9, I’ve relied on reported news stories, and books and essays written by members of D9. Walter Kimbrough, Ricky Jones, etc admit that hazing is and has always been apart of D9 culture, even if it’s banned by nationals.

How is conducting an interview an indication that I’m not a Christian? Chapter and verse for your logic would be much appreciated. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

@TytusJones

@@joshuaramseur this is sometimes the cost of being a Christian. Persecution on a small or large scale is a risk and reality for anyone in ministry. That being said, interviewing someone who broadcasts his or her own experience isn’t defamation. 🥴

I FELT THAT when he said he didn’t want to give it up. People who speak against those of us who have denounced have no idea. I cried like a baby sending my denouncing letter off. I’m headed back to my HBCU for the kickoff of football season this Saturday and whew! I’m scared to see people wearing para. Lol I know my flesh will miss it but my spirit man will be edified. I know God will continue to reward me for my obedience because obedience is better than sacrifice. 🙏🏽

@TytusJones

Think about all your friends who have letters but don’t know Jesus. Remember the Rich Man and Lazarus and the parable of the foundation of sand vs the rock. Eternal life is way more valuable than Greek letters. As you continue to grow in your faith, God will give you an abundant life and change your desires from what you used to love. Trust me! I know from experience. Many times I thought I was missing out but it was God’s Grace all along. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

@the_psychnp

@@TytusJones Absolutely. I’m literally in my pruning season, my sister in Christ. I had to release my org & a relationship. When I downloaded that letter, God sent me another business contract. Mind you, I work in psychiatry so he uses me as a vessel to help deliver ppl from strongholds. He didn’t want me delivering ppl & stay bound myself! Whew! That’s how much he loves me/ us. To God be the gloooorrryy 🙌🏽 Keep me in your prayers for strength & Godly relationships. Thank you in advance.

@TytusJones

You go girl!!!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🥰🥰🥰
