The group is in accordance with the belief that “Failure was never an option for them,” states group member Jon Gordon. “Even in our down time, the constant love, support and patience from our fans helped keep the fire going.”
Keeping the flame burning is exactly what fans have been doing since the group began their journey in Chicago, after they finished high school. After creating a buzz in their hometown One Chance was formally introduced to the world when the group was given the opportunity to have two features on the soundtrack to the motion picture In The Mix. This feature would lead to the group releasing the “Snap and B” single Look At Her, which featured rapper Fabo of D4L. The success of the single afforded One Chance to the opportunity to perform as a part of the nationwide BET sponsored Scream Tour.
After delays in the release of their debut album One Chance had to make a choice that would eventually make all the difference. “There came a time, when we had to make the decision to take control of our careers,” states Vantrease. “We had to do this our own way.”
Now in 2010 the Atlanta based R&B group who started their music careers singing in Chicago are doing just that, taking control. “We’ve never stopped recording” states Brent staying in the studio is what we feel allowed us to sign with a T-Pain and his label Nappy Boy Entertainment.” “T-Pain is someone who believed in what we were doing” says Michael Gordon. T-Pain was a long time supporter of the group and after a impromptu performance the artist signed the quartet to his Nappy Boy Entertainment imprint shortly thereafter.
With a new team and new outlook on the music industry, One Chance is confident and excited to be on their way to creating some of the same magic that their inspirations have done in the past, an impressive list that includes Boyz II Men, Jodeci, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson Sam Cooke and more. One Chance is currently gearing up for a promotional tour in support their self penned single Sexin’ On You which was produced by Fyre. The smooth R&B song is an excellent blend of classic 90s style with a new age twist that showcases not only the groups strength vocally, but their talent as writers and offers a taste of what you can expect from their forthcoming debut album.
U Can't

What we used to have is finished
And what I wouldn't give to rewind the past
I'm tired of walking around with my head
Hanging down, beating myself up about it
Gotta make my mind up before it's too late
After all the shit I put you through
Even gonna lie to you
I've got some issues
I must admit that I was wrong
I've got some issues
Didn't know what I had 'til it was gone
And I don't know if I deserve
For you to come back home
'Cause I got issues
Girl, I got issues
Don't hold it against me
And I just can't walk away
(Just can't walk away)
'Cause my life is faded
(Faded)
I'm trapped in 2 different worlds without you
I've been tracing my footsteps
But keep going in circles
And you say your done with me
Girl, I can't try
I can't blame you
After all the shit I put you through
Not even gonna lie to you
I've got some issues
I must admit that I was wrong
I've got some issues
Didn't know what I had 'til it was gone
And I don't know if I deserve
For you to come back home
'Cause I got issues
Girl, I got issues
Don't hold it against me
In spite of my own issues
At least I'm man enough to tell y'all
You can't nudge me for being honest
(No)
I see you acting like you wanna leave
But don't turn your back on me
I've got some issues
I must admit that I was wrong
I've got some issues
Didn't know what I had 'til it was gone
And I don't know if I deserve
For you to come back home
'Cause I got issues
Girl, I got issues
It's tearing me apart every time I realize
What we used to have is finished
And what I wouldn't give to rewind the past
The song "U Can't" by One Chance is a heartbreaking ballad about a man who realizes too late that he has made mistakes in his relationship with a woman he loves. As he looks back on what they used to have, he realizes that it is gone and he is torn apart by the realization. He acknowledges that he has issues, and that he was wrong in the way he acted. He doesn't know if he deserves her to come back to him, but he knows that he has to be honest about his mistakes.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "I've got some issues" several times, highlighting the fact that the singer has recognized his own flaws in the relationship. He is tired of beating himself up about it and knows that he needs to make a decision before it is too late. The second verse talks about how he is trapped in two worlds without her, and how he keeps going in circles trying to trace his steps. He feels like he has lost her for good and can't try to win her back.
Overall, "U Can't" is a powerful and emotional song about the pain of losing someone you love and the regret that comes with realizing what went wrong. It is a relatable track that speaks to the heart of anyone who has ever experienced heartbreak.

It’s 2021 and this beat is still hard AF. I still don’t understand why this didn’t get a big label push. It would’ve been a hit. I remember it was my MySpace song and people used to comment on my page how much they loved it.
