Falling for You
P. C. Allen Lyrics

I am just a man on my own
La da da da da da da
Tryin' find a place I belong
La da da da da da da
I don't want your money, I don't need no fancy clothes
I'd rather be with you when I am broke oooh-oooh
'Cause you use me
Just a little bit
You try to confuse me
When we're intimate
You'd rather accuse me
But I'm innocent
I'm not comin' loosely
Over sentiment

I feel dumb, dumb, dumb for loving you
I feel dumb, dumb, dumb for trusting in you
I feel dumb, dumb, dumb when I'm done with you
'Cause ain't no one, one, one that can fuck with you

They callin' me the people's champ
La da da da da da da
But everything you do is a shamp
La da da da da da da
I'd rather just hang with my friends
Sometimes I think things will change
And then I land in your bed
Then it don't feel like its the first time
Your everything I want and your not mine
You keep saying I do without them
I say put your money where your mouth is
Come back to me when it feels right
Get me so hard it makes me fight
One more time, just one more time, just one more time

I feel dumb, dumb, dumb for loving you
I feel dumb, dumb, dumb for trusting in you
I feel dumb, dumb, dumb when I'm done with you
'Cause ain't no one, one, one that can fuck with you

Real talk, I'm the white boy to you Wes Snipes
I'm East Coast but it's all love on the Westside
Your girlfriend is a close friend of my bedside
She want D's, and I ain't talking the breast size
Everybody in the club getting reckless
You go home at midnight, we stay out till breakfast
I cash checks and you cancel them
You make calls but there ain't nobody answering
I want a smart girl who gives brains like it's charity
Every night a Friday night, me and Lyla Garrity
On another level, ain't nobody that compare to me
These bitches going dumb trying to marry me

I feel dumb, dumb, dumb for loving you
I feel dumb, dumb, dumb for trusting in you
I feel dumb, dumb, dumb when I'm done with you
'Cause ain't no one, one, one that can fuck with you

I feel dumb, dumb, dumb for loving you (I feel so dumb for loving you)
I feel dumb, dumb, dumb for trusting in you (I feel so dumb for trusting in you)

I feel dumb, dumb, dumb when I'm done with you
'Cause ain't no one, one, one that can fuck with you

Overall Meaning

The song "Falling For You" by P. C. Allen is about a man who is struggling to find a place where he truly belongs. He doesn't need material things like money or fancy clothes to be happy. Instead, he wants to be with the person he loves even when he's broke. However, this person uses him and confuses him when they are intimate. Despite accusations, the singer asserts his innocence, but he still feels dumb for loving and trusting this person who he cannot seem to stay away from.

The lyrics are full of internal conflict and contradiction. The singer tries to distance himself from the person he loves but keeps finding himself back with them. He is frustrated with their behavior, but also seems to enjoy the passion and intensity of their relationship. The song explores the complex emotions that can arise in a dysfunctional relationship - love, frustration, anger, and confusion.

Irwin Allen was The Master Of Disaster. The film Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea was on the cheap( he was a known tightwad), but the artwork and visuals were pretty effective in telling a story. Then, he used those same elements in The City Beneath The Sea(a runaway asteroid threatening to strike the earth).

Even before Allen, there was a film called The Devil At 12 O’clock(Frank Sinatra and Spencer Tracy), In Old Chicago ( the only film about the great Chicago Fire of 1871). 1965 had Crack In The World, it wouldn’t surprise me if he borrowed from that movie. Then there was Krakatoa, East Of Java. Another well made disaster film.

In an episode of SCTV, the cast members did a homage to Irwin Allen’s films(The Towering Inferno was the inspiration).

If my memory serves, When Time Ran Out… won an Oscar for Best Wardrobe. I may be wrong.

The CGI disaster films are hit and miss. But these films before that time provided the drama, terror, suspense and a sense of even more evil; whether or not it is in the form of the disaster or the behavior of human beings as a result, is yet to be decided, and we can all watch from the safety of our own homes.

The best thing I love about this movie and other disaster movies, seen them as a kid, I consider disaster films as my education films on what to do and what not to do during a disaster. And also work together to get out of the situation the cast find themselves in.

For example, in this movie, when Paul Newman say the volcano is a powder keg, best listen to him, cause sooner or later, refusing to believe him will result a disaster waiting to happen.

And if you are James franciscus in this movie, not wanting to listen, you pay the price for it. And also just because the hotel is built to last, grounded in bedrock, that doesn’t mean that it is not prone to fireballs shooting out from volcanoes.

And also, building a vacation resort, to see a volcano erupt, bad idea. Just because you built a hotel so people can have a good view of the volcano, that is considered a warning sign. Just like what happened to rock Hudson when he build a resort so he can have a good view of the snow covered mountain in the 1978 disaster film, avalanche

What an all-star cast! Fun movie, I loved the outfits, and the instrument panels! brings back memories; back when CGI was rare and explosions were explosions. Two thumbs up! (that volcano elevator reminded me of Willy Wonka's elevator...)

If you want to see a "good" movie with an all-star cast that was really well done, no explosions just suspense..."Haunts of the Very Rich"! Still one of my favorite 70s movies!

I love seeing the classic movies! 😍
Sometimes I think these are better than what is produced today. 👍🥰

MouseInBoots Adventures

@ Bonnie I fully agree the older movies are much more enjoyable to watch.

Antique not dead

Most of the time they are better. Better storyline. Better character development. Actual tension not artificial via special effects

Especially when you find out who is on the Epstein flight list; I almost lost my cookies when I saw part of the list. Some people are just sickos.

Kevin Costello

Agreed, these classics remind myself of the 70s and childhood.
