Pallbearer Lyrics

Corporeal vessel left behind
Into formless void
Branching web of space and time
Wandering away
Wandering deeper inside
Swirling mass-ten billion eyes
Dismal cosmic tomb
Spines licking astral mind
Wandering away
Wandering deeper inside
Endless and obscured
The watcher in the dark
In the sea of illusion
A voyage to beyond, within
The lyrics of "Watcher in the Dark" by Pallbearer reflect an exploration of the unknown beyond the physical realm. The references to "torn through the veil" and "corporeal vessel left behind" suggest an experience of leaving the physical body and delving into the formless void of space and time. The imagery of a "branching web" and "swirling mass" further emphasizes the confusion and disorientation of this journey. The lyrics use the metaphor of a wound to describe the experience, highlighting the pain and trauma of encountering the infinite.
Despite the overwhelming and seemingly endless nature of this experience, the lyrics express a sense of determination and curiosity with the repetition of "wandering away, wandering deeper inside." The final lines of the song suggest that this journey is ultimately "a voyage to beyond, within." The idea of the "watcher in the dark" implies an observer, one who is watching over the journey and perhaps even guiding it. This suggests a sense of comfort and safety in the midst of the unknown.

@Corrupt Jupiter The only thing I could see wrong would be the volume level of the vocals. I have to admit they were kind of low, other than that it was pretty much spot on. I guess it depends on the concert, maybe I just got lucky.

This is beautiful beyond words. I have shown a few people who aren't into heavy music this and they've been totally transfixed. This is genuinely profound.
Also, please come back to Australia again soon you guys owned.

Yob, Conan, and Pallbearer... would be my all-time favorite doom metal line-up those three need to get together for a triple co-headliner. ._.
