That percussive clicking noise is actually not from the keys or the keyboard, but intentionally done by lifting the main string cover and rapping it sharply against the fame of the hurdy gurdy. You can see it in this video of Guilhem Desq!
BTW, I love Patty’s H/G playing and her lovely voice! 💚

@@peterhormell1511 You can make percussions by tapping the instrument and clapping the string cover, but there is also the inherent click-clack of the keys.
Many such medieval instruments have "parasitic noises", which add to their rustic charm.
