Paul Di'Anno began his professional musical career singing with Iron Maiden in 1978. His style has been described as more punk-influenced than Iron Maiden's following vocalist Bruce Dickinson. Di'Anno left the band after two albums, the reasons for so vary between sources; either leaving by his own will or being sacked due to excessive drug and drinking habits with a conflicting personality .
Despite his short tenure in the band, Paul Di'Anno is seen as a major factor in the early development of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement.
After this, Paul moved onto various projects such as Di'Anno, Battlezone and Killers with varying commercial success. Now, his band is simply known as Paul Di'Anno.
In his post-Maiden career, Di'Anno has issued numerous albums over the years, as both a solo artist and as a member of such bands as Gogmagog, Di'Anno's Battlezone, Praying Mantis, Killers, and Rockfellas.

Paul Di'anno Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I wanna show you all my wares.
I just want to see your blood,
I just want you to stand and stare.
See the blood begin to flow
As it falls upon the floor.
Iron maiden can't be sought
Iron maiden can't be faught.
Chorus:
Oh well, wherever,
Wherever you are,
Iron maiden's gonna get you,
No matter how far.
See the blood flow watching it shed
Up above my head.
Iron maiden wants you for dead.
Won't you come into my room,
I wanna show you all my wares.
I just want to see your blood,
I just want to stand and stare.
See the blood begin to flow
As it falls upon the floor.
Iron maiden can't be faught,
Iron maiden can't be sought.
The lyrics to Paul Di'Anno's song "Iron Maiden" depict a disturbing and violent desire for bloodshed. The singer, who may be seen as a metaphorical representation of the band, invites someone into their room to show off their "wares," which could refer to both their music and their violent tendencies. The singer wants to see the other person's blood, and wants them to stand and stare as it falls to the ground. The "Iron maiden" in the lyrics is an allusion to the medieval torture device, which was a coffin-like structure with spikes on the inside that would impale the victim. The device is often associated with the band of the same name, whose controversial mascot Eddie is depicted as a giant, menacing skeleton.
The chorus of "Iron Maiden" reiterates the band's relentless pursuit of their audience, no matter where they are. The repetition of the phrase "Iron maiden's gonna get you" emphasizes the violent, predatory nature of the singer's desires. The second verse is almost identical to the first, with the singer again inviting someone into their room to see their wares and witness the blood flowing. The final lines of the song reinforce the idea that the Iron maiden cannot be stopped, fought, or sought out, implying that the band's violent tendencies cannot be contained or controlled.
