Remember Tomorrow
Paul Di'anno Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Unchain the colours before my eyes,
Yesterday's sorrows, tomorrow's white lies.
Scan the horizon, the clouds take me higher,
I shall return from out of fire.

Tears for rememberance, and tears for joy,
Tears for somebody and this lonely boy.
Out in the madness, the all seeing eye,
Flickers above us, to light up the sky.

Unchain the colours before my eyes,
Yesterday's sorrows, tomorrow's white lies.

Scan the horizon, the clouds take me higher,
I shall return from out of fire.

Overall Meaning

The opening lines, "Unchain the colours before my eyes, Yesterday's sorrows, tomorrow's white lies" suggest a desire to break free from the weight of the past and the deceit of the future. The focus is on the present moment and the need to see things clearly and vividly. The colors that are being unchained could be interpreted as the emotions and experiences that have been repressed or hidden away, waiting to be released. The line, "Scan the horizon, the clouds take me higher" reinforces the idea of looking ahead and reaching for something beyond the current state of being.

The second half of the song focuses on tears and emotions, "Tears for rememberance, and tears for joy, Tears for somebody and this lonely boy." This line suggests a complex emotional state, one that is both sorrowful and joyful. The use of the word "somebody" implies a deep emotional connection, someone that is missed or longed for. The line, "Out in the madness, the all seeing eye, Flickers above us, to light up the sky" suggests a sense of chaos and confusion, but also a glimmer of hope and clarity.

Overall, the lyrics to "Remember Tomorrow" convey a yearning for freedom, clarity, and emotional release. The use of vivid imagery and emotional language makes the song feel deeply personal and relatable.

Prowler > The Ides of March
Remember Tomorrow => Wrathchild
Running Free > Murders in the Morgue

Purgatory is a great song while Drifter is decent.

I don't see Killers winning this challenge.

And what about a fusion of those two albums ?

The amazing voice of Paul Di'Anno! I don't know why but all over the years I'm still listening very often the first Iron Maiden album; the strange atmosphere that emerge from it maybe!!! A masterpiece in my opinion!!!

strange atmosphere... free guitar, languid, rebellious, a fresh wind of freedom of struggle, not to be mean

@windk100 yes Di Anno voice is more from the guts! Right for Sabbath(ozzy), also Blackie Lawless, acute (high) ,screaming. with energy, rebellious!
