We leave home expecting to find a blue bird,

but in reality they're looking for monetary wealth instead of true happiness.

You will find my friend that the rainbow's end,
Eventually, you'll see that the end of the rainbow, or the ultimate reward you seek, is much closer than you think.

Is somewhere around your kitchen door.
In fact, it could be right outside your own home, in the most familiar and comfortable place of all - your kitchen.

The happiness and contentment you seek is just like the elusive blue bird, waiting for you to find it.

Back in your own back yard,
The answers and solutions to your problems can often be found in your own familiar surroundings.

You'll see your castle in Spain, through your window pane,
Even if you dream of grandeur and adventure in faraway lands, you'll find them in the simple things you observe from your own window.

Oh you can go to the East go to the West,
You can try travelling to far-off places in the hopes of finding happiness.

But someday you'll come weary at heart back where you started from,
But you will eventually find that you'll become tired and unfulfilled, and will need to return to where you were before.

You'll find your happiness lies, right under your eyes,
That's when you'll realize that happiness was right in front of you the whole time.
