Once Again
People As Machines Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Yeah, yeah, yeah
Whoa-oh-ohhhh
No need to worry ‘bout tomorrow
No need for thinkin’ back on yesterday
All time we share is borrowed
No explainin’ now, but that’s OK
I miss you more each day that passes
Won’t you tell me now
What
To
Do?
All best things leave the fastest
No complainin’ now
Know my love is true
Tiiiiiiiiiime
Washin’ you away
‘Til the next time
We meet again in me your soul remains
A single match can spark a fire
Sit back and watch it burn, burn, burn
Keep your eye on your desires
Rise above it all
Take your turn
I don’t have all the answers
I’m just doin’ the
Things
I
Can
You’re drivin’ in that van sure
I’m standin’ tall
We’ll meet again
Tiiiiiiiiiime
Washin’ you away
Flyyyyyyyyyy
Ride upon the waves
‘Til the next time
We meet again in me your soul remains
I should be down, but I feel fine
I should be low, but I feel
Highhhhhhhhhhhhh
And on that fateful day
I felt a part of me ripped away
I send your ashes to the
Skyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Time
Washin’ you away
Fly
Ride upon the waves
‘Til the next time
We meet again in me your soul remains
Whoa-ohhhh
In me, your, soul, remains
Na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na, na, na

Na, na na na na na na
I know I’ll see you once again

Overall Meaning

The song "Again" by People as Machines explores the concept of time, love, and loss. The singer acknowledges the ephemeral nature of time and encourages the listener not to worry about the past or the future but to live in the moment. The lyrics suggest that the time we share with our loved ones is limited and that we should cherish it while it lasts. The singer expresses his longing for a lost love and asks what he should do to bring her back. He acknowledges that the best things in life often don't last long and that he can't change that, but he wants to reassure his love that his feelings for her are genuine.

The chorus of the song is particularly poignant in its exploration of loss and grief. The repetition of the word "time" emphasizes the singer's sense of time slipping away from him. He acknowledges that time will eventually wash away his memories of his lost love, but he still feels her presence within him, as if her soul remains a part of him. The imagery of a single match sparking a fire and rising above it all suggests that we have the power to overcome our struggles and desires, and that we should focus on what truly matters.

Overall, "Again" is a bittersweet song that celebrates the beauty of love and life while acknowledging their transience. It urges us to live in the present moment and to cherish the time we have with the people we love.

Man I miss this show, I wish they made more episodes

BenSwolo

Neat little thing about Pearl harbor is that on the opposite of ford island is the Utah. A ship that was essentially left to the elements and trees started to grow similarly to the Missouri in this episode. All that’s really left of it is some of the outer hull and 1 window.

Mom's Basement

I was a boiler tech on the USS Vreeland. One day we were chipping away rust around a pump and actually broke through the hull. Had to send divers to weld plates until dry dock.

The Doctor

That ship is the same age as me. No clue what has become of it now that it was decommissioned in 1992 then leased to Greece from then till 1999 when it was then decommissioned from their navy. Can't find any info on it past 1999.

After all of these episodes and knowing what the inevitable ending will be; nature reclaiming everything man built and animals reestablishing themselves as top of the food chain, it's still a fascinating watch to see how each structure gets to that state.

It hurts my heart to see the noble old gal, the mighty F-4 Phantom, rusted and neglected.

A guy who does stuff

and that f-8 gator, it's sad.

JRGProjects

You never know. Humanity could be wandering around the cosmos in this scenario with a fleet of Space F-4 Phantoms taking on hoards of hostile aliens.

MVTV - Montana Vigilante TV

My dad worked for McDonnell-Douglas in L.A., late 60s and to this day (due to images from Avation Week & Space Technology magazine) consider the Phantom as the coolest, ultimate jet fighter of any age.

Donkeyslayer

You think it should have been kept up? Why didn't you pay for that?
