When I was 17 I managed to buy a ticket to see a concert at a jazz club in San Francisco's North Beach. To this day I give thanks to the doorman for meeting me get in even though I was underage. I was there for the music, not the booze. The club: Keystone Corner. The featured act: Donny Hathaway. Awesome soul-jazz! I think Donny passed away just a year later. Huge talent, that cat!! In high school I recall singing a duet with my girlfriend on stage in the gym, the duet Where Is The Love, that perfect song that Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway gifted the airwaves with back then. Ahhh!
