I Don't Care If You're Contagious
Pierce the Veil Lyrics

I can sing you to sleep all night.
Put me next to the open window,
Promise me a second time.
'Cause I don't want to leave without you buried by my side.
I'd rather kill the one responsible for falling stars at night,
'Cause they fall all around me.
The night can be deadly.
Nd they'll never take us alive.
(Can you chase away the darkness?)
To live in love and die.
Last night she recited every reason she's fine.
So if we're heading there together at the same time,
You sing while I drive.
Love like a fugitive tonight.
Dance on the ambulance,
'Cause I would rather spend my life
Vacations in bed with you like drunken summer kites.
And this is only a test,
Sober and scaring me to death.
Hey'll never take us alive.
(Can you chase away the darkness?)
To live in love and die.
Nd I don't care if you're sick,
I don't care if you're contagious.
I would kiss you even if you were dead.
Would somebody make me go blind for the rest of my life?
'Cause I'd do anything to hold your hand.
And I don't care if you're sick,
I don't care if you're contagious.
Oh, no.
Would somebody make me go blind for the rest of my life?
'Cause I'd do anything, anything, anything.
Hey'll never take us alive,
'Cause I'll chase away the darkness.
I'll live in love and die.
I joined the party for the recently blind.
So if we're heading there together you can sing all night.
I'm gonna tear out the thread one by one from your skin
'Till your bones feel embarrassed by all the attention.
Kiss me while I drive.
The song "I Don't Care If You're Contagious" by Pierce the Veil is about a couple who love each other unconditionally regardless of their flaws or imperfections. It tells the story of two people who are so enamored by each other that they would rather face death together than be apart. In the first verse, the character is asking to be buried in the same bedroom as the person they love, so they can sing them to sleep all night. They also promise to chase away the darkness and live in love and die together, despite the dangers that may come their way. Throughout the song, the lyrics speak of wanting to spend every moment possible together, no matter the circumstances.
Furthermore, the song touches on the idea of self-destruction for the sake of love. The line "I would kiss you even if you were dead" suggests that the character is willing to do anything to be with the person they love, even if it means risking their own health or safety. Another line, "I'm gonna tear out the thread one by one from your skin, 'Till your bones feel embarrassed by all the attention", is a metaphor for wanting to be so close to someone that they become a part of them, willing to endure the pain and suffering that may come with it. Overall, the song conveys a message of unconditional love, passion, and devotion.
