The lyrics to Pont l'veque's “Paranoid” talk about a man who is consumed by his thoughts and struggles to find happiness in his life. He has ended his relationship with his partner because she couldn't help him with his troubled mind. He is often seen frowning, and as a result, people think he is insane. The man is constantly thinking, but nothing satisfies him. He feels that he might lose his mind if he doesn't find something to pacify his thoughts.
The man reaches out to someone, asking for help in occupying his brain. He needs someone to show him the things in life that he cannot find. He believes that he is blind to true happiness, and he cannot feel any joy in his life. Even love seems fake and unreal to him. He goes on to say that if someone makes a joke, he will sigh, and they will laugh, but he will end up crying, which shows how emotionally vulnerable he is.
The man shares his state of mind through the lyrics, and he encourages others to enjoy life. However, he acknowledges that it's too late for him to do so. Overall, the song paints a powerful picture of a man trapped in his own mind and struggling to find happiness, despite reaching out for help.

Sorry for the wall of text, if you don't want to read it all then:
TLDR; There are good reasons to doubt Dr Greer, but dismissing the entire body of evidence is likely irresponsible.
My Ramblings
I'm torn on this topic as well, because intitially he seemed genuine and the claims are incredible (plus the press conference adds credibility[1]). However watching long form interviews with Steven Greer does highlight some sort of narcissist type behavior which makes me trust him less. Also, three claims he has made that don't sit well with me:
1. The "6 inch alien" which you can see in his documentary "Sirius" has questionable analysis tied to it and can't be pitched as the confirmation he claims in his film. You can read the summary of the debate on the wiki[2], but further research will show you the difference of opinions of that's not enough. I haven't found any comments or recanting of this directly from Greer, see I don't see him addressing this issue, or other claims where he appears to be incorrect (at minimum). However, we do have to realize that Dr Greer himself submitted this specimen for analysis, so he clearly beleived that it was legitimate. My issue is that he doesn't address this.
2. In "Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind" he brings an official FBI investigative document to light. Unfortunately, that document is clearly just a submission to the FBI from an external source. That is to say that this document was not a military or FBI official origin and therefore doesn't really prove anything. You can see the document here[3]. You can see the explanation of that document here[4] (albeit reddit, this appears to be accurate if you do some research)
3. There is a specific "evidence" video[5] of Greer while on a "CE5" trip. In the video, two "golden" colored orbs appear, in different time scales. Greer claims there are no flights in this area, and confirms a path of evidence which would prove they are not flares. While I'm not interested in debating if Greer knows this or not, they most likely aren't the UFO's they are claimed to be in the video. The first "orb" that appears is also the first "orb" to "dissappear" and clearly (albeit slowly) loses altitude. Also, it's been proven with flight records that there was a flight which took a path very near these sightings by a private flight company[6]. While we can't really prove who hired that company, the evidence suggests that these are likely two flares with a parachute or some other attached accessory to slow them down
Other things, that don't sit well with me but aren't direct claims:
1. Dr Greer sells the CE5 app, trips for contact as well as books etc. Genuine or not, he's clearly profiting from this and that's going to create bias.
2. Dr Greer does verbally turn on/attack folks in a sort of emotional (non scientific) way if they disagree with him or doubt his claims
3. Dr Greer asserts himself as a man who has the answers, while everyone else coming out with information for a long time won't assert that
4. Dr Greer doesn't appear to release much of his "evidence" unless he does it in a video or book you have to buy. If he could really prove these things, and he truly wants to propel humanity forward don't you think he would provide at least some quantifiable, hard evidence? That seems like the fastest way to get more folks onboard to me, because if his claims are correct we could literally eliminate global warming.
Having said all of that, entirely dismissing Dr Greer's claims is probably irresponsible. Dr Greer likely is saying some things which are true and I certainly think Dr Greer believes what he's putting out there (mostly). The fact is, if you dismiss Dr Greer's claims, you dismiss at least 18-20 highly decorated defense members of the American Government, as well as many highly knowledgeable defense contractors. The other thing to consider here, is that just because someone says some things which are clearly not true, it doesn't mean that it's not based in quantifiable facts. It does however, make it nearly impossible to figure out what's true and what's not without corroborating evidence.
Perhaps what is scarier, is that we don't know who are the misinformation agents and who are not. If Dr Greer is correct (and it is documented that the government has a goal of dominance) then the others providing information could be agents building us towards that end. I think this is unsubstantiated though, so for now we all have to remain vigilant and accept that going to war with an entity that has these capabilities is fool hardy and potentially equivalent to signing our death warrant as a species...
Ultimately, you have to make your own decision, this is just what I found while trying to make sense of the claims made by Dr Greer.
