I played the beta, i have my doubts about the game. But seeing gameplay and story details about the endgame gives me a little hope.
Before it was just basic, now were talking about creating your pirate den, creating an empire, smugling rings and exploring pirate legends. It also showed way more enviorment diversity with enviorments insipred by china, india, indonesia, africa.... the old trailers feel like they are just madagascar. I hope we also get to explore a little closer to australia or antartida for a nice winter biome.

Interesting that they are not mentioning season passes and dlc. Lol. But yeah we all know it will have them, its ubisoft.

Ill get it on the bargain bin if its an easy platinum or has nice reviews. But it does look like a game to have just fun sailing the seas like in blackflag

Can see the focus is on pirateship combat, imo, that's totally fine looks fun to strategise. But damn the world looks beautiful. The soundtrack gave me chills.

I am happy and cant wait to have it released.
A good new point: It seems like those ugly armor plates are replaced by reinforcements that are way more fitting.
A bad point (as far this trailer showed me): One of my biggest belongings, the three-mast-ship, like a galeon-frigate mix from the first trailers wherent shown.
It was one of the most epic things, stepping up from the Jackdaw-like ships to something on a whole new level.

Yeah this game misses the mark in regards to what made AC Black Flag so spectacular and I think they have known that for years. It's why it's seen copious amounts of delays imo.

Ship battles were an amazing addition, but being built around it and it alone just ain't it.

It doesn't even need good melee combat. It just needs any kind of melee combat

They definitely improved the game since the last time, armor system especially looks way better where previously you had just shield plates mounted on a ship and it looked really bad but now your actual hull visuals change, as it should have been from the start. It makes the ships look much more unique than before. Boarding is still just a cutscene though so that's a bit disappointing as in a pirate game one would assume there would be sword and gun fighting when boarding but guess this is purely focused on ships alone. Progression has also been much improved. Now, this game might actually be worth trying out at least

This works with resources as well. You don't leave your ship in the open world. You target and get a QTE.

I recently completed the six-hour beta and found the game to be enjoyable. One thing that the trailer does, in my opinion, is depict a well-optimized game. The boat in the beta was good; the water was fine, but the trees and foliage were awful. I hope they address that before the game releases.

This game looks fun to me, I love pirate games. SOT has been a really fun game, but this is more realistic looking in that they don't look like cartoons so to speak ha. AC Black Flag is also an awesome game, I imagine they got inspired to make this from that.
