Read Full Bio ↴Priscilla Paris (January 4, 1941- March 5, 2004) was an American singer.
Priscilla first achieved success with The Paris Sisters, in which she sang lead vocals backed by her two older sisters Albeth and Sherrell. The group is best remembered for the 1961 international hit 'I Love How You Love Me' produced by Phil Spector.
Priscilla released three solo LPs between 1967 and 1978; a Billie Holiday tribute titled 'Priscilla Loves Billie' and two albums of entirely self-penned material; 'Priscilla Sings Herself' and 'Love Is ...'. Although the records achieved relatively little commercial success, they are now sought after by collectors.
In 1978 Priscilla Paris suffered facial paralysis as the result of an accident. After a period of serious depression she settled in Paris, France where she owned a restaurant and operated a business which specialised in teaching French hotel workers how to interact with English-speaking tourists. She also occasionally sang in small Parisian clubs.
Priscilla died as the result of a fall in her home on Friday, March 5, 2004. She was 59 years old and is survived by two sons.
I'm Home

It's been so long since I felt so warm
It's oh, so good to love you
And even better to think of you
No matter where I go
I'm home
One little kiss and I know that I'm home
It's oh, so good and right
And even better through the night
No matter where I go
I'm home
To feel your lips so near me
I know your heart must hear me
And all the things I'm thinking of you
I love you, I love you so
You smile at me and I know I am home
I'm happy now 'cause you've made me your own
It's oh so good to want you
And even better that you want me, too
No matter where I go
I'm home
I'm home
I'm finally home
I'm home
The lyrics to Priscilla Paris's song, I'm Home, elucidate on the feeling of being home, which is a product of feeling loved and wanted. The opening verse immediately introduces the concept and emotions behind being home; a feeling of warmth, comfort, and overall sense of belonging. The singer of the song looks to her partner and feels at ease knowing that she is where she belongs, and this is accentuated in the chorus, which reiterates that no matter where she goes, she is home.
In the second and third verses, the lyrics focus on the tactile and sensual experience of being close to the person who makes her feel at home. A touch, a kiss, and a smile are all the singer needs to feel like she belongs. It is clear that both the physical and emotional romantic connection are important to this feeling, given how the singer notes how her partner's touch and smile make her feel.
At the core, the song is about the feeling of being home and how that is tied to love and companionship. Through the lyrics, the audience is reminded that home is not necessarily a physical location but an emotional state that can be brought about by those we love and care about.
