Todo lo demás
Quique Gonzalez Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

La carretera desemboca en el puerto
atrás dejamos la gasolinera
vimos violetas y caballos viejos

Overall Meaning

The lyrics are from Quique Gonzalez's song Todo Lo Demás, which is a song about taking a road trip with friends and feeling like nothing else matters but the present moment. The first stanza talks about driving to the port, where old friends are waiting. The road has been long, and there were sights of violet flowers and old horses on the riverbank. However, they are now at the port, and there's a sense of relief and joy that comes with it. The second stanza is about the drive back home, where they pass by factories, thin dogs, and hitchhiking girls. But again, nothing else matters but the present moment and the memories they have created.

The song is a beautiful representation of how moments of joy and memories created between friends are what truly matter, and how they can make everything else seem insignificant. The road trip is a metaphor for the journey of life, where the destination is not as important as the experiences we gather along the way.
