Overall Meaning

The song 'Life of the Party' is a collaboration of R. Kelly and T.I. and is primarily about their experiences of going to parties and clubs. The chorus starts off with the singer reminiscing about the days when partying was just about having fun and dancing. However, as they got older and attended more parties, things became less fun and more violent with frequent fights breaking out. The verse follows T.I. who talks about trying to avoid conflicts at parties and avoid getting into trouble. He speaks of how some people at parties can't seem to handle their drinks or control themselves, which often leads to fights.

In the second verse, T.I. describes himself as a grown man who has made it big and has a lot of money. Therefore, he does not like being stopped at the door or having to pay an entrance fee. He goes on to talk about people trying to talk to him about their CD or film and how annoying it can be to deal with such people. R.Kelly then comes in and expresses his dislike for people who try to get close to him, asking him questions and trying to show off their connections. He just wants to enjoy the party and dance with beautiful women.

The message of the song is that partying can be fun but it can quickly turn sour when people lose control, start fights or become too pushy.
