BASS SOLO
Tuba mirum spargens sonum
Per sepulchra regionum,
Coget omnes ante thronum.

TENOR SOLO
Mors stupebit et natura,
Cum resurget creatura,
Judicanti responsura.

Liber scriptus proferetur,
In quo totum continetur,
unde mundus judicetur.

ALTO SOLO
Judex ergo cum sedebit,
Quidquid latet apparebit,
Nil inultum remanebit.

SOPRANO SOLO AND QUARTET
Quid sum miser tunc dicturus,

Quem patronum rogaturus,
Cum vix justus sit securus ?

Overall Meaning

The song Tuba Mirum, composed by R.S.S. Orchestra, R.S.S. Capella, and conducted by Valery Polyansky, speaks of the Day of Judgment, where the sound of the trumpet will resound through the graves, summoning all before the throne. The bass soloist starts with the words "Tuba mirum spargens sonum" which means "The trumpet, scattering its wondrous sound." This sound will reach every nook and corner of the world, and people will gather before the throne of God to account for their actions.

The tenor soloist then sings of how death and nature will be stunned when all creatures will rise, and they will have to account for their actions. The day of judgment will also bring forth the divine book, which will contain all the good and evil deeds of humankind. No action, no matter how small, will go without punishment or reward. Even the slightest of deeds will impact their eternal fate. The alto soloist talks about how the judge will sit and unveil all hidden in the dark. Nothing will remain unavenged, and everyone will be judged accordingly.

Finally, the soprano soloist and quartet ask what the singers will say on that day when they face judgment. Who will be their advocate, and even the just will feel insecure? The song is a poignant reminder of the life beyond and urges us to act with kindness and compassion.
