For You

Would you let me go for a dive
I'm falling down, the way that you speak is so profound
Put both your hands into mine
I'll hold you safely
I remember it vaguely, the feeling I've longed for since
Don't you try to persuade me
I'll keep on waiting, waiting for you
I'll be waiting for you
Slices of heaven you are
Like pieces of works of an art
Is this the place we?
Got lost in the haze, we
Exchanged knowing looks without speaking a word
Laughing in fits over what we misheard
These are the moments that truly affirmed what is love
My love, so
Don't you try to persuade me
I'll keep on waiting, waiting for you
Hold me, closely, tell me that you want me too
I'll be waiting for you
In the lyrics to Rappin' 4-Tay's song "For You," the artist expresses admiration and longing for someone with a "beautiful mind." The singer is captivated by the way this person speaks, finding it profound and falling for them more deeply with each interaction. There is a desire for closeness and intimacy, symbolized by the imagery of holding hands and the longing to be held safely. The singer reminisces about a past encounter or connection with this person, feeling a sense of fulfillment and nostalgia for that feeling.
The lyrics also suggest a sense of patience and hopefulness as the singer waits for this person to reciprocate their feelings. There is a willingness to continue waiting, believing that being with this person is worth the time and effort. The idea of being held closely and told that they are wanted too conveys a yearning for mutual affection and understanding in this relationship. The singer is willing to persevere in their feelings and emotions, despite any challenges or obstacles that may arise.
The imagery of "slices of heaven" and "pieces of works of art" used to describe this person showcases the high regard and admiration the singer holds for them. The comparison to heavenly and artistic qualities emphasizes the person's unique and special nature in the singer's eyes. The lyrics hint at a deep connection and bond between the singer and this individual, suggesting that they have shared meaningful experiences together that have solidified their feelings.
The final part of the lyrics explores moments of laughter, shared understanding, and unspoken communication between the singer and the person they are addressing. These moments are portrayed as affirming the existence of love and deepening the emotional bond between the two individuals. Despite any attempts to persuade or sway the singer, they remain steadfast in their commitment to waiting for this person and continuing to hold onto their feelings. The song conveys a sense of devotion, longing, and hope for a future where the love between the singer and the other person can be fully realized.

I was homeless for a while before I went to a trade school called Job Corps. I was given chance after chance to establish myself and I disappointed my parents time after time. I eventually got to Job Corps and the day I got here my dad sent me this song. I'm just listening to it and I'm in tears...
