1. Repulsion are a legendary band hailed as being one of the biggest influences on the grindcore genre, despite only releasing one official full length album entitled "Horrified" in 1989 (recorded in 1986).
The band formed in 1984 under the name Genocide, releasing three demos with this name. Later, they changed the name to the more "fitting name" for their style of music and lyrical content, which is Repulsion. With the name Repulsion, they released one full length album, two demos and a single. They broke up around 1991 and after over a decade, the band decided to reform again circa 2004.
Repulsion hold a legendary status as a band influencing countless earlier grindcore bands like Napalm Death, Carcass and Terrorizer. The band is also hailed as one of the first breeds of grindcore being mixed with death metal, influencing the goregrind genre heavily.
2. Repulsion was the original name of the legendary gothic/doom metal band Type O Negative. They released their demo album None More Negative during this time. Soon after they changed their name due to the above grindcore band already having the name.

You lie in darkness, death corrodes your face
You are rotting, maggots in your coffin
Worms in your head - Soon they'll be dead
Nothing to feed on in your empty skull
For years you'll rot in pain, lonely and decayed
You are rotting, maggots in your coffin
The lyrics to Repulsion's song Maggots In Your Coffin describe the gruesome aftermath of death as time slowly deteriorates the physical state of the corpse. The coffin is depicted as sealed, indicating an end to the physical body and a beginning to the slow process of decay. The imagery of the corpse being consumed by maggots is vile and disturbing, emphasizing the idea that death is an irreversible and inevitable fate. The singer speaks from a haunting perspective, conveying the message that death is a terrifying experience that leaves one trapped in a state of decay for eternity. The lines “Hell is where you are, your tortured sould is scarred/For years you'll rot in pain, lonely and decayed” emphasize the idea that death is not just physical but also psychological, as souls will be trapped in a cycle of decay and isolation.
Overall, the lyrics in Maggots In Your Coffin paint a macabre picture of the consequences of the afterlife. The song forces listeners to confront their fears of death and confront the inescapable nature of human mortality. The lyrics work hand in hand with the thrash and death metal music genre, which often explores dark and aggressive themes.
