In every nation
Go feel the vibration
That takes me away
Me people stand up
To fight desperation
As we're raising, raising
Hey
I will lift you up
We can stir it up
Feel the love around
When the sun comes down
People give it up
'Cause we're rising up
Like the sun (like the sun)
So hold on
I will lift you up
We can stir it up
Feel the love around
When the sun comes down
People give it up
'Cause we're rising up
Like the sun
So hold on
Right
Come share my dream
No facing, no fighting
Me love like deep shining
All that it way
Hey
Me people get off
To join this foundation
As we're raising, raising
Until the break of day
I will lift you up
We can stir it up
Feel the love around
When the sun comes down
People give it up
'Cause we're rising up
Like the sun
So hold on
I will lift you up
We can stir it up
Feel the love around
When the sun comes down
People give it up
'Cause we're rising up
Like the sun
So hold on
Come on down
And share all your dreams
The time has come
To gather the rainbow colors
Open up your heart you will see we can
Hold on, hold on
The road is clear
So gather all your friends around and
Take them one by one by the hand
To a peaceful, lovely place
Hold on
I will lift you up
We can stir it up
Feel the love around
When the sun comes down
People give it up
'Cause we're rising up
Like the sun
So hold on
I will lift you up
We can stir it up
Feel the love around
When the sun comes down
People give it up
'Cause we're rising up
Like the sun
So hold on
The lyrics of Rio and the Rockabilly Revival’s song “When the Sun Goes Down” is optimistic and encourages people to come together to make a change in the world. The song calls for unity and love in the face of desperation and the need for peace. The first verse depicts a message of hope that we all can unite to make a change and feel the vibration that will allow us to transcend above all our differences.
The lyricists could be using “moonlight” as a metaphor for our differences, whereas “sun” could be seen as the unifiers, since it rises every day regardless of our cultures, races or demographies. The lyricist encourages their audience to hold onto each other and believe in themselves and each other as they go on this journey of embracing diversity and love.
“When the Sun Goes Down” emphasizes on unity, love, and hope to create a peaceful world that belongs to everyone. This song is an inspiration to people to come together to make a change in the world regardless of their background, culture or ethnicity, and to awaken the sense of each other’s humanity. Through the song, the lyricists want to remind the listeners that the world is a better place when we work together with tolerance and love.
