seasons
Rona Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's mid July
I'm having trouble finding out how and why
I'm supposed to
Have a good summer
I haven't seen any of my friends at all this summer
Why oh why
Is it cause I talk too much
Do I get in the way
Do I cry too much
Do I make too many mistakes
That's probably it

Seasons always change
Will I stay the same

It's the middle of fall
I'm getting bored of the way things are
And how they never
Never seem to be different
Should I be trying harder
Should I make some more friends
Or should I just give up
Live my life the way it is
I never can tell

Seasons always change
Will I stay the same

Overall Meaning

In "Seasons," Rona expresses a sense of loneliness and isolation, even in the midst of typically joyful and vivacious seasons. In the opening lines, she mentions the month of July, which usually signifies peak summer season, but instead of feeling excited about it, she feels lost and unable to understand why she is not able to enjoy her summer. She then asks herself if her talkativeness, emotional outbursts, or tendency to make mistakes is causing her to be excluded from her friends' activities. The repetition of "why oh why" in these lines emphasizes her confusion and desperation to figure out what she is doing wrong.

As the song progresses into the middle of fall, Rona expresses her boredom with the repetitive nature of life and the lack of change or excitement in her social circle. She questions whether she should be making more friends or simply resigning herself to the way things are. The repeated lyric "I never can tell" further emphasizes her uncertain outlook on the future. In the final lines of the chorus, Rona ponders whether she will remain the same amidst the changing seasons.

Overall, Rona's "Seasons" is a reflection on the frustration and confusion of adolescence, as young people try to navigate the social expectations of their peers while grappling with their own insecurities and uncertainties about the future.

Did Rona died

BTaeditS

They really had to sacrifice a lot of things. They had to sacrifice their happiness because of the guilt and toxicity around them. For 5 years it was nothing but pain with a pinch of happiness, but they finally got their happily ever after with a new beginning. And I love that for them sm. Absolutely going to miss them and I love this edit so much!!
