Las Cuatro Y Diez
S.Rodríguez/L.E.Aute Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
en una mañana al este del edén,
James Dean tiraba piedras
a una casa blanca, entonces te besé.
Aquella fue la primera
vez, tus labios parecían de papel,
y a la salida en la puerta
Luego volví a la academia
para no faltar a clases de francés,
tú me esperaste hora y media
No te demores, no sea
The lyrics to S.Rodríguez/L.E.Aute's song Las cuatro y diez tell the story of a young couple who shared a special moment in a movie theater while watching James Dean throw stones at a white house. The singer reminisces about their first kiss and the inspector who checked their IDs at the theater's exit. Later that day, they meet again at a café where they talk about their lives and share a photo of the girl's family. The singer invites the girl for coffee or strawberry ice cream and tells her to call him when she can. The song ends with the line "hurry, it's already four ten."
The song is a wistful meditation on youthful love and the fleeting nature of time, with the singer looking back on a moment of intense emotion and longing for a return to that sense of connection. The line "hurry, it's already four ten" serves as a reminder to seize the day and to not waste time on small things but rather on spending time with loved ones. Overall, the song is a declaration of the importance of love and the need to cherish moments shared with others.

Fue en ese cine, te acuerdas,
Remember when we were at that cinema?
en una mañana al este del edén,
It was on a morning like one from the stories of the Garden of Eden,
James Dean tiraba piedras
When we watched James Dean throwing rocks
a una casa blanca, entonces te besé.
At a white house, that was when we kissed.
Aquella fue la primera
That was the very first time
vez, tus labios parecían de papel,
Your lips looked fragile, like they were made of paper,
y a la salida en la puerta
But at the exit, by the door
nos pidió un triste inspector nuestros carnets.
A sad inspector asked to see our IDs.
Luego volví a la academia
Later, I went back to the academy
para no faltar a clases de francés,
So I wouldn't miss my French lessons,
tú me esperaste hora y media
You waited for me for an hour and a half
en esta misma mesa, yo me retrasé.
At this same table, but I was running late.
Quieres helado de fresa
Do you want strawberry ice cream?
Or would you rather I order the coffee now?
Cuéntame cómo te encuentras
Tell me, how are you feeling?
aunque se que me responderás: muy bien.
Even though I know you'll answer: very well.
Ten, esta foto es muy fea,
Look, this photo is really bad,
el más pequeño acababa de nacer
The youngest one had just been born
oiga, me trae la cuenta,
Excuse me, could you bring me the bill?
calla, que fui yo quién te invitó a comer.
Nevermind, I'm the one who invited you to eat.
No te demores, no sea
Don't linger, you don't want
To be late for your shift at the store.
Llámame el día que puedas,
Call me when you can,
Hurry, it's already four ten.
