All Over
S.W.I.M Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
[Clap your hands and stomp your feet.]
Well, I've walked the line on 89
In the Arizona sun
I've chased the moon and I've caught a star
On U.S. one-oh-one
To the bend in the Rio Grande
I've took in a lot of this U.S.A.
'Cause I've trucked all over this land
[Start the banjo pickin'.]
Well, I've changed a tire by the light of a fire
On the rock-bound coast of Maine
I've shoveled snow up in Idaho
Been stuck on the Kansas plains
I've been to the end of the world and back
With a wheel and a stick in my hands
I've passed the test and I've done my best
I've trucked all over this land
[Chorus]
I've trucked all over this land
From Maine to the Rio Grande
I've paid the price of a truckin' life
But I've trucked all over this land
[Lots of banjo pickin' here.]
I've heard the wail of a gallopin' gale
On the road to the Florida Keys
I've felt the roar of a thunderstorm
On the Oklahoma seas
I've set my sail on the Oregon Trail
I've camped in a redwood stand
I've loved the best and I've hated the rest
But I've trucked all over this land
[Chorus]
I've trucked all over this land
From Maine to the Rio Grande
I've paid the price of a truckin' life
But I've trucked all over this land
[More banjo pickin' here.]
I've said a prayer as I climbed the stairs
On the Rocky Mountain side
I've learned the words and I've sung my song
And I've travelled far and wide
I've fought the fight and I've done all right
For the likes of a wanderin' man
I've paid the price of a truckin' life
But I've trucked all over this land
[Chorus]
Well, I've trucked all over this land
From Maine to the Rio Grande
I've paid the price of a truckin' life
But I've trucked all over this land
Yeah I've trucked all over this land
From Maine to the Rio Grande
I've paid the price of a truckin' life
But I've trucked all over this land
S.W.I.M's song "All Over" is a tribute to the life of a trucker who has traversed across the entire United States. The lyrics describe the various places and experiences that the trucker has had, ranging from walking along the Route 89 in Arizona to trucking along U.S. one-oh-one and chasing the stars to reaching the bend in the Rio Grande. They have experienced all sorts of weather, from the gusty winds on the road to the Florida Keys, to the thundershowers on the Oklahoma seas. The trucker has seen the Northern Lights and camped in a redwood stand, and even paid the price for such a trucking life, but has no regrets for having traversed across the country.
The song's lyrics highlight the adventurous, rugged and challenging life of a trucker. At the same time, it celebrates their spirit of adventure, their hard work and their legendary stories. The banjo picking in between the verses and the chorus provides an upbeat, toe-tapping feel, which adds to the energetic and lively mood of the song.

I find freestyle to be more difficult than breaststroke. Although it's much faster, I can't do it for a long distance, despite swimming as slow as possible. However with breaststroke, I can just keep swimming coast-to-coast and I don't tire.

It's the opposite for me, I struggle with breaststroke and feel tired easily, I swim better with freestyle.

Agreed I find breastroke I can keep going but it’s mostly cos I get my gulps of air in better with that vs freestyle where I feel robbed off air lol

This video help us educate , on how to learn swimming and apply this four stroke techniques such Butterfly, Backstroke, Freestyle and Breastroke. I've been taught all of these strokes, but I'm must say that I am great with the freestyle because it's easy for me and fun. I find Backstroke, Butterfly and Breastroke to be more difficult than Freestyle.

I haven't been swimming in years, and I just signed up for a scuba class. On our first meeting, we had to swim six laps to show that we won't drown in scuba gear or whatever, and I thought the same thing about the backstroke: it should conserve energy over long distances and it should be easier to breathe. The problem is I don't know how to do that properly anymore, and I just ended up shoveling water into my mouth while I was breathing. I ended up settling for a doggie paddle.
