Because Of Who You Are
S. Moore Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Show me a man whose heart is faithful
Show me a man who longs for the truth
Show me a man who still believes
God will do what He said He will do

And I will
Show you a man who knows his history
Show you a man who knows about his roots
Show you a man who understands
That God will lead his people through

If you are waiting in the wilderness
Or in the shade of the promised land
You've got to

Stand where you are, sure in your call
Believe in the one who brought you this far
Consider the price that was paid for it all
And if he should fall
Remember who you are

He was the God of Isaac and Jacob
He was the God of Abraham
That same God is alive and well
And living in the hearts of faithful men

And when the enemy comes calling
Never forget that you're one of the chosen

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of S. Moore's song "Because of Who You Are" delve into the essence of faithfulness, belief, and perseverance in the face of challenges. The song's narrative centers on the character of a man whose heart is devoted to faith, truth, and the promises of God. Through poetic language, the lyrics emphasize the importance of unwavering belief in the fulfillment of God's promises and staying true to one's roots and history.

The first stanza sets the tone by calling attention to the characteristics of a faithful man, one who believes that God will honor His word. The lyrics suggest that a person who has faith in God's promises and remains steadfast in their beliefs will have a deep understanding of their history and roots. This man is portrayed as someone who trusts in God's guidance and sustenance through both tribulations in the wilderness and the blessings of the promised land.

The chorus underscores the message of standing firm in one's calling, trusting in the divine presence that has brought them thus far, and reflecting on the sacrifices made for their journey. The lyrics encourage resilience in the face of challenges and the importance of remembering one's identity and purpose when faced with adversity.

The second stanza shifts the focus to the God of the patriarchs - Isaac, Jacob, and Abraham - highlighting a lineage of faith and divine intervention. The mention of these biblical figures serves to reinforce the continuity of God's presence and power throughout generations. The lyrics affirm that the same God who walked with these forefathers is still active and alive within the hearts of those who remain faithful and chosen.

The final lines of the song serve as a rallying cry to never forget one's chosen status and the divine protection that comes with it. The lyrics remind the listener that despite any challenges or temptations that may arise, they are part of the chosen people of God and should hold onto their faith with unwavering conviction. Overall, the song's message is one of empowerment through faith, resilience, and a steadfast belief in the promises of God.

To the 12 tribes of Jacob that are scattered throughout the four corners of the earth and the strangers that have joined themselves unto them........

.....Research God’s Time in Genesis 1:14. God’s Sabbath is calculated by the sun, moon and stars, not by the Gregorian or any other man made calendar hanging on our walls.

God may allow the “Powers To Be” to enforce some type of “Sabbath Law” before He deliver His people from all nations, to see if we will keep His Law or no. Examples: Deut. 16:4. Judges 3:4.

Genesis 1:14 is a command from God. Days are by the lights in heaven. The Sabbath day is a day. God’s Sabbath is calculated by the lights in heaven.

The true Sabbath is not Saturday or Sunday. The new moon day is the first day of the month. God’s months start with the new moon day. The Gregorian calendar do not start its months with the new moon day.

Did Jesus calculate His Father’s Sabbath by the Time His Father ordained in Genesis 1:14? Lift Jesus up. Follow Him.
