Honesty and authenticity can be difficult to uphold in a world that often rewards deceit

More to myself than to you
Being honest with ourselves is just as important, if not more so, than being honest with others

And so I try to find the easy road
It's tempting to give in to instant gratification and take shortcuts, but they often lead nowhere

But it only goes to nowhere – and I have learned
We must learn from our mistakes and recognize that only putting in genuine effort will lead to growth and progress

That there is some prize that you and I can earn
The reward for hard work and perseverance is a better future for ourselves and those around us

If only bit by bit, it's worthwhile
Even small bits of progress and positivity can make a significant impact over time

From the sky down to the ground
The light can transform our entire perspective and way of life

We must be comfortable with ourselves and our own journey in order to find our true purpose
