When Something is Wrong With My Baby
Sam Dave Lyrics

Something is wrong with me
If I know she's worried
Then I would feel that same old misery
We've been through so much together
We spoke as one and that's what makes it better
Something is wrong with me
Just what she means to me now
Oh you just oh you just wouldn't understand
And the people say oh they say she's no good
Oh but she's my woman
And I know I'm her man
If she's got a problem oh yeah yeah
Oh I know I'm gonna have to help her solve it
When something is wrong with my baby
Something is wrong with me
If something is wrong with my baby
Something is wrong with me
"When Something Is Wrong With My Baby" is a soulful ballad by Sam & Dave that explores the tight bond that exists between lovers. The lyrics are about the way a person feels when their significant other is upset and struggling with something. The song suggests that true love means feeling what your partner feels, and that their emotional ups and downs are your emotional ups and downs as well. The songwriters use the concept of one shared emotional experience to demonstrate just how deeply these two people love each other.
The lyrics say that if something is wrong with the singer's partner, then something is wrong with him as well. This is not to say that the singer necessarily experiences the same issue as their partner - only that the partner's struggles are felt by the singer too. The song highlights the lengths that the singer is willing to go to be there for their partner in times of crisis. It emphasizes the importance of being a support system for someone who you love, and how partnership is, at its core, a journey to be taken together.
The song is a classic example of soul music, and it has been covered by numerous artists over the years. Its popularity lies in its relatable lyrics and the hauntingly beautiful melody. The power and tenderness of the lyrics have resonated with listeners for decades.

This was my mothers favorite song she once told me. She had stopped listening to secular music when she told me. So, I hunted everywhere until I found it and I played it for her. She beamed as her face lit up as she sang the lyrics and reminisced ; for we know music is a time capsule itβll take you right back to a certain time and place in your life no matter how old you are. Rest in Heaven Ma β€
