Honestly, maybe she was processing things differently over time? I wouldn’t be surprised if she genuinely forgot certain details until later onward and just mentally tried to stick details together as best as she could. It’s kinda like Holocaust survivor interviews: Over time, they may have differing takes of what happened either due to genuine memory flukes or even trauma processing (i.e. they probably didn’t want to reveal certain details at one point until later onward when they were more comfortable).

Let's face it the 70's took sexism to another level ,Jimmy Savile was just one of many guys that got away with this kind of behaviour, I remember as a kid there was always a TV show or film that treated women like this. Never understood it at the time,but it made me feel unsettled , maybe seeing my Mum not at all happy about it and my Dad saying " oh it's alright, it's just a load of fun" so I'm not really surprised that the BBC kept him on as it was nothing new and I can guess it was the same in countries all over the world too. I saw my gym teacher once smack a girl's bottom while she was doing a hand stand. The entire class was watching the hand stand yet I seemed to be the only one who was observant enough and in shock. I was watching their faces at the end of the show and they both looked very upset.....like they'd just been hassled and forced onto the stage with him. No comparison of course but I remember once being working at a bar in Manchester and as I was taking stuff to the kitchen, somebody threw up upstairs and I got covered in puke as I was passing by. And everybody laughed at me and ridiculed me for being covered in sick that I just laughed and ran to the toilet to get clean. And I never felt so humiliated and low and mad at the people laughing at me yet I had to laugh because nobody would blame the drunk scumbag who threw up on me. This was 8 years ago and I still haven't told anybody, only the people I used to work with knows it.
That's when I finally understood how women must feel in these situations, times x1000. The feeling of being a victim of something horrendeous yet nobody siding with you and telling you to "move on, it's don't make an scene".
Atrocious and despicable and in cahoots with society.

Unfortunately, this kind of perverted behaviour was very common by men in the 60s and 70s, as women had just recently embraced the post-war hippy sexual revolution. While women were okay with things moving forward for them, many men if not the majority of men, felt threatened by the rise of women's liberation in every aspect of society. Even in places like India and the Middle East, the same thing happened during their own revolution where men began inappropriately touching women on public transport and college/work as their egos were just were not prepared for women to start taking on traditionally male gender roles in the workplace. Therefore, sexually harassing women was a way for men to keep women in "control".

Just watched the Netflix film on him and when the credits rolled, I just burst into tears. It was like a huge release after holding my breath through the entire thing. I've never dealt with this form of abuse but just thinking of society... how messed up we are... how no one gave a damn all those years despite the clear signs... all those children who were tormented and women who were humiliated with forced kisses and groping... the sick and paralyzed patients who had to endure his twisted ways... and the dumb people who still scoff at the MeToo movement and victims' stories. How as a society, these horrible things could happen. It says A LOT about society
1/ how people were accepting of inappropriate behaviour on kids and women (and men too, as men who get assaulted in general can see that as shameful in their male identity so won't talk, but in this case women and kids were the victims )
2/ why kids had no space to talk, it says a lot about a child's place in the family, how they are scared of adults, why you are SO scared, you can't talk about something that made you feel unsafe about an adult that's so sad :(, also how kids position themselves towards adults....
