The band's style and looks is adapted from and influenced by visual kei, which is a sub-culture from Japan that make use of make-up,
elaborate hair styles, flamboyant costumes, along with androgynous aesthetics.
Based on specific musical abilities, as seen in aggressive and powerful heavy metal music mixed with progressive symphonical nuance added with a unique,
melodic type of vocals, combined with beauty looks, this band can easily be recognized.
kurenai -EVE- started in 2009 with Hikari (guitar), Sasa (drum), Aiko (vocal), and Myu (vocal) including additional players Myst (guitar) and Yuki (bass).
Togethey they covered some of Japanese visual kei bands on Japanese Culture's events.
kurenai -EVE- was born.
With this line-up, they released a single demo called Dear Diary.
However, not long after, Myu quit the band, followed by Aiko, to concentrate more on college and personal business.
At that time, the band was in an unstable condition and almost broke up until Myst invite Hara, his long time friend and band mate, to join the band as the vocalist to replace Aiko and Myu.
It was then that it was decided, Myst and Hara became official members of KE.
This latest line-up brought upon a new atmosphere on the band.
The spirit comes more passionate when Myst gave the idea to change the band image and bring the band into a heavier territory of music, which still adapted the visual kei look.
They began to cover both Japanese and American heavy metal songs during performances.
Recently the band released their first single called Forsaken, with Hara on vocals, and is receiving a lot of attention from the so-called local J-Rock community, as well as the general public.
So far, the single fetched positive responses from critics.
After the release of their second single, Nox Erotica, kurenai-EVE- decided to change their name into Scarlet -EVE-, to prepare themselves to go international with their music.
SE is currently producing their singles independently, retaining their idealism of heavy music served with beauty.
