Summer Wine
Scooter & Nancy Sinatra Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Strawberries cherries and an angel's kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things

I walked in town on silver spurs that jingled too
A song that I had only sang to just a few
She saw my silver spurs and said let pass some time
And I will give to you summer wine
Oohh-oh summer wine

Strawberries cherries and an angel's kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things
Take off your silver spurs and help me pass the time
And I will give to you summer wine

Oohh-oh summer wine

My eyes grew heavy and my lips they could not speak
I tried to get up but I couldn't find my feet
She reassured me with an unfamilliar line
And then she gave to me more summer wine

Oohh-oh summer wine

Strawberries cherries and an angel's kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things
Take off your silver spurs and help me pass the time
And I will give to you summer wine

Oohh-oh summer wine

When I woke up the sun was shining in my eyes
My silver spurs were gone my head felt twice its size
She took my silver spurs a dollar and a dime
And left me cravin' for more summer wine

Oohh-oh summer wine

Strawberries cherries and an angel's kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things
Take off those silver spurs and help me pass the time
And I will give to you my summer wine

Oohh-oh summer wine

Overall Meaning

The song "Summer Wine" by Scooter and Natalia Avelon is a reinterpretation of the original song by Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra from 1967. The lyrics describe a romantic encounter fueled by the taste of strawberries, cherries, and an angel's kiss in the spring. The singer meets a woman who is intrigued by his silver spurs and invites him to share some time with her, promising him a taste of "summer wine."

As the night goes on, the singer becomes intoxicated by the woman's charm and the wine they are drinking, eventually passing out. When he wakes up, he discovers that she has taken his silver spurs, leaving him with a craving for more "summer wine."

The lyrics can be interpreted as a metaphor for a brief and intense romantic encounter that leaves a lasting impression on the singer. The taste of summer wine represents the intensity of the moment and the passion between the two characters.

Nancy's intro is beyond fantastic. Lee's voice is so cool. This song is way more tranquilizing than the summer wine itself. A song that I never get tired of listening to.
