Talk You Down

As it's fading from my face
Try to speak but nothings coming
Nothing I could say to make you stay
Grabbed your suitcase called a taxi
It's 3am now where you gonna go?
Gonna stay with friends in London
And that's all I get to know
Just a cigarette gone
No you couldn't' be that far
So I'm driving in my car where I hope you are
Maybe I can talk you down
Maybe I can talk you down
We're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head
And try to open up your eyes
This is relationship suicide
Cos if you go, I go
Taking shortcuts through the alleys
While your racing through my mind
Cops can chase but they wont catch me
Not before I get to speak my mind
If there's still time
Just a cigarette gone
No you couldn't be that far
So I'm driving in my car where I hope you are
Maybe I can talk you down
Maybe I can talk you down
We're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head
And try to open up your eyes
This is relationship suicide
Cos if you go, I go
Cos if you go, I go
Cos if you go, I go
Cos if you go, I go
We're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head
Just a cigarette gone
No you couldn't be that far
So I'm driving in my car where I hope you are
Maybe I can talk you down
Maybe I can turn around
We're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head
And try to open up your eyes
This is relationship suicide
The song 'Talk You Down' by The Script is about the desperation of the singer, who is trying to salvage his relationship with his significant other. The lyrics describe the moment when the singer realizes that his partner is leaving him, and he is grappling with the loss and pain that he feels. He is trying to hold on to the relationship, reaching out to his partner through various means, to talk her down from leaving him.
As the song progresses, the singer reflects on the circumstances that led to their relationship's downfall, such as taking shortcuts and racing through the mind, which in essence led to relationship suicide. He goes on to say that he is standing on a tiny ledge, and they are right on the brink of falling off the edge. In an act of desperation, the singer decides to use his heart and not his head to try and make his partner see what she is doing by leaving him.
Overall, this song is an ode to the lengths one might go to keep the person they love, even when they know that it might not be the best decision in the long run. It is a poignant reminder of how sometimes we find ourselves at the brink of despair and must use our hearts to save ourselves from heartbreak.

The script, Coldplay, Jimmy Eat World, the All American Rejects, Paramore and Evanescence back in the days show me another world of music 🎶 I’ll always one of their prestigious fan. I had between 8 to 11 years since I be been listening their song. I am Haitian btw raised and born in my country, it’s not really our kind of music but I am so happy to know and feel these songs.
