Few bands have had such an important influence on the Venezuelan rock music movement as Sentimiento Muerto; It was the first band with a group of hardcore followers (groupies), the first to have a coherent approach both musically and image and marketing. Typical disagreements and differences of style and direction that would take the band, coupled with the lack of support from their label, led to the split of the band.
Pablo Dagnino began a solo career in 1996 and early 2000 the group Pixel; Wincho went to study in the United States, on his return has participated as bassist in other groups (including Sur Carabela); Cayayo, Sebastián Araujo and Héctor Castillo formed the band Dermis Tatú, recording an album in Argentina. Cayayo Troconis, one of the most revered guitarists in Venezuela, died on November 17, 1999, shortly after turning 31, of respiratory failure.

Tropiezos
Sentimiento Muerto Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics of Sentimiento Muerto's Tropiezos convey a sense of repetition and longing for change. The first stanza speaks of the monotony of daily life, with the "custom" of routine filling up each day and making it seem like nothing will ever happen. The repetition of "evadiendo el dolor" emphasizes the avoidance of pain that is part of human nature, something that makes us all so similar. However, there is a sense that this avoidance leads to a lack of excitement and fulfillment - hence the desire for a change in the status quo.
The chorus brings in the idea of wanting to disrupt time - to "hacer tropezar el tiempo" - and using one's own "veneno" (poison) as an antidote. This suggests a desire to push against the natural order of things, to break free from the constraints of everyday life and do something unpredictable. However, these desires are tempered by the final line of the chorus, which implies that this poison is also a trap. In essence, the lyrics are expressing a sense of restlessness and the desire for something more, while acknowledging that taking action will come at a cost.
Overall, Tropiezos is a song that captures the feeling of being stuck in a rut and yearning for change. The repetition of certain phrases adds to the sense of monotony, and the desire to disrupt time speaks to a deeper sense of angst and dissatisfaction. However, the final lines caution against the danger of going too far in the pursuit of excitement or change, emphasizing the need to find a balance between stability and adventure.
