When Summer Turns To Snow
Album Fool on the Hill - Sérgio Mendes & Brasil ′66 (1968).
When a summer turns to snow
And you're in love once more
The memories pass your eyes
Like treetops from a train
You watch them slip away
And helplessly you try
To catch one in your hands
A souvenir of love
To prove that you were there
Were there at all
Once you memorized a night
The shape of every cloud
The pattern of the stars
The color of the moon
You memorized it all
But now it′s gone
As if it never was
No souvenirs to show
When summer turns to snow
"When Summer Turns To Snow" by Sérgio Mendes, is a melancholic song that talks about losing love and the memories that we are left with, after the summer of our love fades away to winter, leaving us to reminisce about what once was. When the summer ends, and the snow falls, memories of our love begin to slip away like treetops from a train. The singer expresses how the memories of the summer love that once seemed so vivid, cannot be grasped in one's hands like a souvenir of love. It's as if the love that he felt was never there.
The lyrics further suggest that memories of a once-cherished connection, can be difficult to hold on to, they can vanish into thin air. The singer remembers once being able to memorize everything about the summer, from the shape of every cloud, the pattern of the stars, and the color of the moon. But as time has passed, the memories have faded away, leaving him with nothing to hold on to. He wishes he still had something tangible to prove that he was there, to show that the love he felt was real and not just a figment of his imagination.
Overall, the song "When Summer Turns to Snow" is about the bittersweet pain of an all-consuming love that eventually fades, leaving behind the fragile memories that are easily lost. The emotions conveyed by the song are melancholic, yet also reflective in the sense that there is an appreciation for the love that was once shared.

Bachelor Pad Music, as good as it gets.
This is from the fourth Brasil ’66 LP, featuring its second line-up, and this cut is of some significance as it is the first recording of this tune, composed by Marilyn and Alan Bergman, and David Grusin (Google them!).

Beautiful song which says something that is true. I am an old man, and remember the summer of my life now I am in the winter. As the song says one memorized so many things in those times and now, that is the only things of them I have left, the memories.

"But now it is gone, as if it never was, no souvenirs to show, when summer turns to snow" So true really.

This song is beautiful and so true. The things it says are true, when we become old, we only have memories of what happened in our past lives, but no other mementos, and so many things we had, we no longer have or have the possibility of getting,
