Father And Son
Sete Vidas Vol. 2 Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Verse 1
Just a boy in the hills of Virginia
Music was his way of life
When the chores were all done, at the setting of sun
On the front porch they'd sing through the night

Chorus
We'd walk through the fields of clover
As he told me of the days of his life
He said son you must always remember
And carry it all of your days
The most precious gift, I've given to you
Is love from Father to Son
Love from Father to Son

Verse 2
A Father spends his whole lifetime learning
Lessons he passes along
I'm telling my own son my story
I'm telling you now in this song

Chorus
Now we walk through the fields of clover
And I tell him of the days of my life
I say son you must always remember
And carry it all of your days
The most precious gift, I've given to you
Is love from Father to Son
Love from Father to Son

Overall Meaning

The song "Father and Son" by Sete Vidas Vol. 2 tells a heartfelt story about the bond between a father and son, and the importance of passing down love and wisdom through generations.

In the first verse, the lyrics describe a young boy growing up in the hills of Virginia, where music played a significant role in his life. After completing his daily chores, the boy and his father would gather on the front porch and sing through the night, creating cherished memories together.

The chorus reflects on these memories, as the father and son walked through fields of clover. The father imparts his wisdom to his son, emphasizing the value of remembering these experiences and carrying them throughout his life. The most precious gift the father has given his son is the love they share, an enduring connection between generations.

The second verse shifts the perspective to the son, who is now a father himself. He recognizes the lifelong learning that comes with being a parent and decides to pass on his own story and experiences to his son. Through this song, he expresses his love and the importance of embracing the lessons from the past.

The tag at the end reminds us that the story began with a young boy in the hills of Virginia, where music was his way of life. It ties the generations together and serves as a reminder of the enduring power of love and the impact of a father's influence.

Overall, "Father and Son" is a touching tribute to the bond between fathers and sons, and the significance of passing down love and wisdom through generations.

Eu chorei nessa cena. No cinema e em casa.
Pois, lembrei como meu pai partiu. Eu o vi saindo para trabalhar e,me veio uma sensação estranha. Meu cachorro passou a semana toda uivando.

Saudades,pai!
