See th rain
Seven Places Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The trees are bending in the angry wind that blows
Those big black clouds look like they're going to exlode
I made this boat for us to ride until the storm goes away
I'll give you three reasins why it's time to be afraid
One, I've never sailed before
Two, never navigated a storm
Three, I look so small compared to all of these waves.
[Chorus:]
I will see the rain go away, see the rainbow
The light of blue is bursting through the grey and
I will hear the thunder roll away

I am seasick as lay limp across this rail
Nowhere to go but here and I feel like I am in jail
We've been here forty days and nites
Over this one window we fight
And now I hear Him give three reasons why not to complain
One, He didn't let me drown
Two, not a single leak was found
Three, we just got evidence we're headed for some solid ground.

[Chorus]

The night is followed, the night is swallowed by the day
The night is followed, the night is swallowed by the day.

Overall Meaning

The song "See The Rain" by Seven Places is a powerful and introspective ballad about facing difficult times and overcoming them with hope and faith. In the opening verse, the imagery of an approaching storm is used to create a sense of danger and uncertainty. The singer reveals that he has made a makeshift boat and invites a companion to join him in weathering the storm. However, he admits that he is not experienced at sailing, navigating through a storm or in contrast to the enormity of the waves, he feels small.

The chorus of the song is where the message of hope is conveyed. The singer declares that he will "see the rain go away" and "see the rainbow." He is confident that things will get better and that even amidst the storm, there is light breaking through. The second verse continues with the sea voyage metaphor and the singer reveals his own physical discomfort and feelings of being trapped. However, he recounts the reasons why he should not complain, including the fact that he was saved from drowning, the boat did not leak and they were likely headed to solid ground.

Overall, "See the Rain" is a song that acknowledges the harsh realities of life and the difficulties that we all face. Nonetheless, it serves as a powerful reminder that we are not alone in our struggles and that there is hope to be found even in the midst of storms.

Someone told me long ago
There's a calm before the storm
I know
It's been comin' for some time
When it's over, so they say
It'll rain a sunny day
I know
Shinin' down like water

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?

Yesterday, and days before
Sun is cold and rain is hard
I know
Been that way for all my time
'Til forever, on it goes
Through the circle, fast and slow
I know
It can't stop, I wonder

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?

Yeah!

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?

Você Alguma Vez Viu a Chuva?
Alguém me falou há muito tempo
Que há uma calmaria antes da tempestade
Eu sei, vem vindo há algum tempo
Dizem que quando terminar
Choverá num dia ensolarado
Eu sei, brilhando como água

Eu quero saber, você alguma vez viu a chuva?
Eu quero saber, você alguma vez viu a chuva

Eu quero saber, você alguma vez viu a chuva?
Eu quero saber, você alguma vez viu a chuva
Caindo em um dia ensolarado?

Sim
Eu quero saber, você alguma vez viu a chuva?
Eu quero saber, você alguma vez viu a chuva
Caindo em um dia ensolarado?

Creedence Clearwater Revival was one the 70's best rock hands. I love their music. It gives me great memories of my younger years.
