Although people may flee the cities en mass in Jehovahās Day of Judgment, they find scant refuge in the countryside (Isaiah 5:30; 8:22). Using the imagery of tithingāin which the Israelites pay a tenth of the landās yield to the Levites and the Levites pay a tenth of that tenth to the priests (Numbers 18:24-28)āIsaiah contrasts the many who perish with the few who survive. The āholy offspringā left standingāa tenth of the tenthācompares to a terebinth or oak that can renew itself when cut down. The one who fells the tree/s is the king of Assyria/Babylon, Jehovahās axe and saw (Isaiah 10:15; 37:24).ā

Masa! What interesting and compelling information here! Love it. So much to think about and pray about. Your video got me started on a deep study and search for understanding the Book of Revelation. I do wonder though if we are still in the winding up scenes of the 6th seal. As part of the 6th seal as described in Revelations chapter 7, it talks about the 144,000 (12,000 from each tribe of Israel) servants of God being sealed in their foreheads. I'm not sure if this particular event has occurred yet. The 144,000 are high priests that are sealed to administer the gospel.
āBefore the Lord shall come ā¦ there is to be a great work among the nations. ā¦ The ten tribes will have to come forth and come to this land, to be crowned with glory in the midst of Zion by the hands of the servants of God, even the Children of Ephraim; and twelve thousand High Priests will be elected from each of these ten tribes, as well as from the scattered tribes, and sealed in their foreheads, and will be ordained and receive power to gather out of all nations, kindreds, tongues and people as many as will come unto the general assemblage of the Church of the first-born.ā (Orson Pratt, inĀ Journal of Discourses,Ā 16:325.)
I think before that sealing can occur, we need to have completed the gathering of scattered Israel, which we haven't done just yet. President Nelson has said that this duty (gathering Israel) is the most important thing we can be doing right now because it is imperative in preparing the world for Christ's 2nd coming.
Zion, the New Jerusalem, is also established in the 6th seal I believe, and that hasn't happened quite yet.
I definitely think there are a lot of things and prophecies that will be fulfilled soon and I do believe it is our calling to prepare the world for Christ's second coming, but I don't think we're in the 7th seal just yet.
I'd love to hear more thoughts on this though! Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but from all the sources I've read on churchofjesuschrist.org it seems there are some finishing touches in the 6th seal that still need to be completed. š

Mark (Sorry, this is going to be a long one, but hang in there! :D ) Thanks for your response! I've been anxious to discuss this topic so I appreciate some feedback! Yes it seems D&C 77 does say each seal is 1,000 years and I believe there are other Church leaders who have confirmed that idea! In the "Book of Revelation Overview" from 1983 on the church website it says the 7th seal occurs "about" 2,000 to 3,000 AD. I wonder if it's possible to be off by 20, 30, 50, years. I'm not sure!
Some think that the 7th seal was opened with the Palmyra temple dedication in 2000 because Revelation 7:9-12 has aspects very similar to a temple dedication; however, while I was studying this, I found in the Institute New Testament Student Manual, Chapter 55, an explanation from Gerald N Lund:
Gerald N. Lund, who later became a member of the Seventy, explained that there are several āinterludes,ā during which the book of Revelation briefly diverts from its chronological sequence:
āAs one studies the book, it becomes clear that there are places in the chronological flow where the Lord pauses to teach us important information before moving on. A teacher may do this as he moves through a lecture, pausing in his logical development to say, āNow, before we go further, I need to make sure you understand something.ā Such teaching interludes seem to apply to Johnās vision. For example:
āThe joy of those who are saved. (Rev. 7:9ā17.) Before launching into a grim description of the judgments, John sees an innumerable company of the righteousāa powerful reminder that not all on earth will be wicked and will suffer Godās judgments.
So that "interlude" that sounds like a temple dedication was actually an interlude from John, a fast-forward, to view the joy of the righteous who are saved and exalted in the Celestial kingdom in the end.
Later on in that same chapter in the Institute manual, they discuss the 144,000 that were first mentioned in Revelation 7 and then referred to again in Revelation 14:

In contrast to the depictions of Satanās widespread influence and power recorded in Revelation 13, chapter 14 offers hope. The opening verses of Revelation 14 describe a group who have the āFatherās name written in their foreheadsā (verse 1); they are clean and chaste, āfollow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth,ā and are redeemed from among men (verse 4); and they are honest and āwithout faultā before God (verse 5).
Through the Prophet Joseph Smith, the Lord revealed that the 144,000 āare high priests, ordained unto the holy order of God, to administer the everlasting gospel; for they are they who are ordained out of every nation, kindred, tongue, and people, by the angels to whom is given power over the nations of the earth, to bring as many as will come to the church of the Firstbornā (D&C 77:11). The song that is sung by the 144,000 (see Revelation 14:3) may be the same song that is recorded in Doctrine and Covenants 84:98ā102. For more information about the 144,000, see Doctrine and Covenants 133:17ā18; for information on Godās name written in the foreheads of the righteous, see the commentary for Revelation 3:12.
Another thing that makes me think we may still be at the very end of the 6th seal is that Joseph Smith, when talking about witnessing the "Night the Stars Fell" (you can Google this!) in 1833, said:
"Beautiful and terrific as was the scenery, it will not fully compare with the time when the sun shall become black like sack-cloth of hair, the moon like blood, and the stars fall to the earthāRev. vi:13 - as these appeared to vanish when they fell behind the trees, or came near the ground."
That event described in Revelation 6:13 is supposed to occur during the 6th seal, but in 1833, Joseph's commentary makes it seem that that has not been fulfilled yet. Since 1833 I'm not aware of an event that has completely fulfilled this prophecy. But I could be missing something.
The 2014 Church's Institute of Religion timeline Overview of the Book of Revelation also has the following events listed as occurring during the 6th seal:
1.Renaissance and Reformation
2.Industrial Revolution
3.Joseph Smith's Ministry
4.Restored Church becomes global
5.Saints prepare for Christ
6.Great calamities
7.Zion established
(The first 3 events have obviously taken place, the 4th is underway as we speak, the 5th (preparing for Christ) is beginning as well I believe, and we're beginning to see more of the great calamities (although I think it's going to get MUCH worse). However, the last event, "Zion established" has not happened yet. Zion would refer to the New Jerusalem in Jackson County, Missouri I believe?
These are all just things I've found and thoughts I've had so far that make me think we're not quite to the 7th seal. Close! But not there just yet.

@Mikaila Renee 1. "Zion established" Zion is the pure in heart. (D&C 97:21) How many millions are there now?
2. The gathering of Israel began in the Kirtland temple at the moment Moses committed the keys of that gathering to Joseph and Oliver, Apr 3, 1836 (D&C 110:11).
3. "The ten tribes will have to come forth and come to this land, to be crowned with glory in the midst of Zion by the hands of the servants of God, even the Children of Ephraim..." (D&C 133:30-34) The Gathering of Israel on both sides of the veil has been well underway for over 184 years! My father was a Patriarch. He told me that he had personally given blessings to people from EACH and ALL of the "lost tribes" of Israel, but the vast majority were of Ephraim. I venture to say that the vast majority of Patriarchal blessings given since 1836 are upon the heads of the children of Ephraim. (Side note: Ephraim is one of the Lost 10 Tribes. So is Manasseh. There are now MILLIONS of Ephraimites identified in the church, as well as the other half of Joseph, Manasseh. There are currently MORE children of Ephraim and Manasseh identified and living on the earth and gathered than there have EVER been. )
Ephraim's blessing is the Birthright from Joseph son of Jacob, to be gathered first in the last days, to be a leader during the Restoration and establishment of God's Kingdom on Earth in the last days, to prepare a people and a place ready for the return of Jesus Christ and the other "lost tribes" of Israel, and to crown his brethren (the "lost Tribes) with glory, receiving their "rich treasures". (D&C 133:30-34)
John the Beloved has been with the "Lost 10 Tribes" preparing them and their scriptures for their return en mass. I may assume that they have 120,000 High Priests ready to step up along with Judah and Benjamin's 12,000 each, for a total of 144,000.
Not only are we definitely in the 7th seal, every word of prophecy is being literally fulfilled "... in the eyes of all the people."

I've watched this about 4 times now. I've read each of the scripture references and quotes, and I even pulled Elder Featherstone's letter from the archive and read the whole thing. I appreciate you putting this together, so very much. I have been feeling a steady pull towards Zion, and a strong impression to keep my heart away from Babylon, to prepare myself and my family to better understand these signs. I still have a ways to go, but this video and your research and references have helped me significantly.

My dad, who is not on this earth today, studied this extensively when he was. He had been on my mind a lot more as of late, I took this as a way for him to tell me to look into his research and the teachings that go along with this.
