I came to this video from your very heartfelt email. Having listened to Lucinda for many, many years before I found your music. All I can say, if there is a singer songwriter out there who is an 'heir' to Lucinda in her ability to tell a story and to capture incredibly human emotions in a song, for what little my opinion is worth, I would say that it is definitely Sharon Van Etten. Thank you for so many beautiful songs. And what a wonderful take on this song!

I thought lucinda wrote it I knew she did covers but Im so defensive of my past with her, discovering her music first in my subset, stuck on l's sibways rural roads and downtown contrived contraptions escaped from, well whatever, I thought she was all mine, in my mind at least, and warded off all these naysayers, inside my own mind cut off before they could criticize, for example..............

Check out her track on a tribute album for Loretta Lynn; Lucinda did a version of "Somebody Somewhere (Don't Know What He's Missin' Tonight)." The Loretta Lynn tribute even features covers from Paramore and Kid Rock if you can believe it. One of my favorites from Lucinda is actually more recent -- last year she composed an original song for Netflix's "Lost Girls" film. The song itself is titled "Lost Girl" and it's among her best in my opinion.

This is like the reincarnation of Joy Division or something. Such a great band and singer and sound. Total slowcore. Definitely the best cover on SVE's new album and almost as good as the original version. Brilliant. I think Sharon and Lucinda and this band should do a whole album together... I think their voices would compliment eachother. I love it.
