I have a few interpretations of why Shiey used the lyric "you can't rape me, I'm a foetus":
- In a literal sense (as horrible as this sounds) a foetus can't be raped since it is in the mother's womb (this as a metaphor can be applied to the following ideas too)
- He's saying he's too young (foetus) to be 'raped'/screwed over by society, police etc. Young enough to be physically fit and fast enough to outrun them. This one might be a bit of a stretch or could be explained better
- It just work musically
I have some more ideas but I can't be bothered to wright them all out/some of them aren't as sound. I also did this without having in mind context of the rest of the song or his other music.
An interesting thing to note though is that I definitely think Shiey uses his music as a persona of a 'super' version of who he is. In his music he will often make himself out to be this untouchable, completely focused and independent from society figure (which he isn't like everyone). But in his videos he is more vulnerable and slowed down with us. He opens up in his feelings, he gets injuries, he fails, he relies on the people who make his food, his friends, the trains etc. In some of his songs he does also show self doubt and stress.
On Chvrches latest album their lead vocalist talked about how on some of the songs she portrays an idea of who she wants to appear as - a cool tough feminist who stands for the truth, but on the others songs she is portrayed as exactly who she is with vulnerabilities - a person who thinks and drinks too much, cheats and lies, but also finds wisdom in self understanding through these things to better herself and others. So I think it's interesting to look at Shiey through the lense that his music is teasing his vulnerabilities, but largely inflating his alternate lifestyle to appear as a god like human. He also contradicts himself in his music too "maybe I'm a clown" - "fuck the circus I'm no clown". The first lyric is off the album Safety while the second is off Danger. In one he feels safe enough to express he may be a clown, in the second it's dangerous enough that he's verbally violent to the idea of being a clown.
Anyway that's enough essay, but I've gotta say writing that has made me more curious about Shiey's lyrics

I also like that one. It's certainly has it's problematic value of trespassing people's private property, but it also highlights that claiming land is an idea, and that land is just land and should be accessible by anyone
