The song "Non" by Sick Tamburo is a contemplative and melancholic reflection on the desire for a normal life, after having lived a difficult and perhaps dangerous past. They also crave the freedom to ride their motorcycle around their hometown, find love by the sea on Sunday afternoons, and enjoy leisurely activities like playing cards and going to the movies. The final verse embodies the desire to be close to someone they love, listen to their thoughts, and relax together on the couch.
The repetition of the final two lines of every verse, "Mio padre non perdona e lo so lui mi sparerà" (My Father does not forgive and I know he will shoot me), creates a haunting tone throughout the song.
