It's been three long years since you walked out of my life. And still, I've been attempting to move forward, day by day, waiting in vain as if you were just temporarily absent, and our connection had been lost, not forever.
In that first year, the pain was almost unbearable. The second year saw me trying to quiet the love I felt for you, attempting to loosen its grip. And now, in this third year, I've begun to lose hope.
No matter how hard I've tried to bury my feelings for you or suppress the happiness you brought into my life, they've remained constant. They return, as if they never left in the first place. I still smile when I think of you.
Your memory has a way of calming even the stormiest of my days, just as it always did.
Answers to my questions have eluded me, even to this day.
