Following the Skull Snaps sessions the group recorded a cover version of Manu Dibango's underground hit 'Soul Makossa', using the name All Dyrections, for the Budah label. Two years later they recorded one final single under the Skull Snaps name, 'Al's Razor Blade', with 'Ain't That Lovin' You' as a B-side, for Grill records.
Skull Snaps' only album was a rare collectors' item trading for between $200 to $300. It has now been reissued on both vinyl and CD. In 2005, Australian reissue label Aztec Music released the first official re-issue on CD - a deluxe 6-panel digi-pak, remastered with two bonus tracks, "Al's Razor Blade" and "Ain't That Loving You".
Ten12 Records re-united all the original members of the Skull Snaps (Erv Littleton Waters, Sam O. Culley, and George Bragg) in 2005 in tandem with the band's first official release, Snapped/ I'm Your Pimp, since their 1975 single. Incidentally 'I'm Your Pimp' was a massive hit on the Northern Soul scene in the UK in the 70s often played at the legendary Wigan Casino all nighters. Ten12 Records under the direction of Skull Snaps frontman Erv Waters plans to release the entire Skull Snaps catalog on CD/DVD with recordings from the original album plus five bonus tracks, "Al's Razor Blade," "Ain't That Lovin' You," "On Top Of It," "Soul Makossa," and "She's The One", with live footage and archived photos.
It's A New Day

Now, now, now, now, now
Hey, what's that you say?
Well, gonna be a new day
It's a new day, and a better day's coming
Well, now who you gonna trust?
In God we trust
Yeah
Woah, nah nah
Just step, to the back of the bus
It's not right to get uptight
To fold your hands and cry
Stand up and fight
With all of your might
You can make it if you try
Hey, what's that you say?
It's a new day, and a better day's comin'
In God we trust, going to make a fuss
Just strut, to the back of the bus
Well there's freedom for all
You've heard the call for men like you and me
And in the swing, and do your thing so others can be free
Let's make a stand and show your hand
There's a place for you in line
Be black and blue
Because we need you
And the power of your mind
What you say?
Hey, what's that you say?
It's a new dang day
It's a new day, and a better day's comin'
Who you gonna trust?
In God we trust, don't make a fuss
What you gonna do?
Just step, to the back of the bus
Well, nah, nah
Well get up, thank, now now
Just throw your hands now now
Stand up and fight, yeah, yeah, yeah
Just step, to the back of the bus
Just step, to the back of the bus
Let me hear you say "freedom"
Well don't care if you didn't want no freedom at all, yeah, yeah
Freedom for all yeah, yeah
Don't care if you're white, blue,
green, black, or purple, yes y'all Ah, yeah
Make a fuss, gonna change the back of-a this bus
Aw, yeah
Everybody gotta be free, free, free, free, free, yeah, yeah
Gotta keep the freedom for you and me
Well, yeah
Well, you gonna step to the back of the bus no more, no more, no
The song "It's A New Day" by Skull Snaps is about hope and change. The lyrics express optimism about the future and encourage people to take action towards achieving a better world. The song highlights the importance of trust in God and the power of unity and perseverance. The opening verses of the song encourage listeners to not get uptight or give up, but to stand up and fight with all their might. The lyrics go on to say that freedom is for everyone, regardless of race or color.
The song's chorus repeats the phrase "It's a new day, and a better day's coming," emphasizing the theme of hope and the belief that things can improve. The lines "Who you gonna trust? In God we trust, don't make a fuss" suggest that trust in a higher power is necessary for change to occur, but it's important to make that change peacefully without causing unnecessary conflict.
The song also references the civil rights movement and encourages people to take a stand and fight for what they believe in. The final line "Well, you gonna step to the back of the bus no more, no more, no" is a clear reference to the segregation that was common in the United States at the time of the song's release. It's a call to action for listeners to stand up against discrimination and to demand equality for everyone.
