@Lea My guess is that it was a spoof on the sitcom Happy Days set in this time period where the cool kid the Fonz would tap the juke box like that at the soda shop and it would start playing a song, cause he was that cool. Some one -- my guess is Louis -- probably thought it was a good stand-alone joke, what if a guy tried to do the Fonz juke box trick and it just broke and sliced up his hand. But it does not work so well because he's not playing a younger, cool Fonz-like character, so the reference is too subtle. And, too, you have to be 50 or older to get the reference anyway. I had to watch that bit twice myself to see how he hurt his hand again, and to see he kind of approached it like he was going to tap it and make it play a song the way the Fonz did, before I got the reference. I mean, I could be wrong, but I can't think what else it could be.

But I see art as an opportunity to for one to express their deepest woes and desires. Good, bad, or indifferent. I’m sure Louis CK has internally dealt with many of his own demons just as many of us do while he was writing and performing those jokes. Hopefully they were actually therapeutic and helped him grow and change as a person for the better. And in my opinion, if you’re making art with the intention of excluding or hiding the deepest/darkest parts of yourself, you’re lesser than one who does.
